Only two LEGO Super Mario sets for 2022 haven't been revealed yet and these are the D2C and the next Character Packs Series. 71410 will be the next Character Packs and will be the fifth series of them but retailing for more this Summer at $5.99. This is because of two reasons: the characters for this series will be slightly larger than there predeccors and they'll come in cardboard boxes rather than the usual small plastic packets. The bigger characters are the likes of Toad and Yoshi which offer more playbailty and bigger rewards when playing with LEGO Mario, Luigi and Peach. However, because the characters are bigger and include more pieces, only eight of them are included in this new series rather than the usual 10. And, as already mentioned, these will be in more sustainable cardboard boxes similar to LEGO VIDIYO Bandmates. After we just released a post the other day, we now have further information on the upcoming LEGO collectable Minifigures series. This is another non-licensed 71034 Series 23 retailing for $4.99. The series will celebrate LEGO's 90th Anniversary but will be similar to Series 18s costume party. Series 23 will be filled with 12 more exclusive costume Minifigures all going to celebrate 90 years of LEGO. The next LEGO licensed theme is set to be the highly requested Avatar and we now have our first set name for one of four sets releasing in October. 75572 thanks to online retailer wagners24.de has been confirmed to be Jake and Neytiri's First Flight on a Banshee retailing for $59.99. This makes the set the third most expensive set for the upcoming initial wave releasing on 1st October 2022. And as the name suggests, the set should have at least two Minifigures of Jake and Neytiri who will both have a brand new head mould. After a repeated appearance on the LEGO rumour mill, a reliable source of stonewars.de has confirmed that a LEGO Avatar theme will be coming this year. However, the theme's previous set numbers of 77012, 77013, 77014 and 77015 have been replaced by set numbers of 75571, 75572, 75573 and 75574. Those set numbers are also the ones rumoured for the mysterious LEGO Coconut theme. This had been previously rumoured to be sets based on Indian Jones meaning a return of a LEGO Indian Jones theme will be happening at the earliest of 2023 with different set numbers. However, this means they will tie into the release of the next film more and we could be seeing a lot more than just four sets which were previously rumoured. But back to the LEGO Avatar theme, all four rumoured sets will be releasing on October 1st 2022 just a few months before the release of the second film. Another LEGO Ideas set has been revealed for a Summer 2022 release to go with 21333 Vincent Van Gogh: A Starry Night which is another 18+ display model. But this new LEGO Ideas set will be 21334 Jazz Quartet and will be available from 1st July 2022 becoming one of the cheapest LEGO Ideas sets of 2022 as it'll retail for $99.99 with 1606 pieces. The set itself has only been in development for about a year but will already be available from 28th June 2022 for LEGO VIPs. The set has kept its distinctive brick-built people but has received a couple of updates from LEGO. These include a female pianist joining the quartet with a striking yellow dress. The other brick-built people have remained the same with a male bassist, a male trumpeter and a male drummer who like the pianist is sitting down. The brick-built stage also remains from the original design but is a little bit taller and has a more rustic design. The stage can also be split apart to make separate stages for each of the members of the quartet. After the recent rumours of two flagship LEGO 90th Anniversary sets, another set has been revealed to join in with the celebrations. This is another remake of a classic set but this time as a Gift With Purchase. 40567 Forest Hideout GWP takes inspiration from the 1988 version 6054 Forestman's Hideout but with a modern 2022 look and brand new Minifigures. The new LEGO 40567 Forest Hideout GWP is a 1:1 remake of the original even though many details have been improved. One of these improvements includes changes to the trees by making them more realistic using the dinosaur tail piece in black. Leaf elements are then attached to this to make curved branches. The main build of the treehouse has four blue 1x8 tiles used for the roof along with grey brickwork. Two Minifigures in this version are included of two rangers both wearing green with the target along with other accessories. Another LEGO DC set has been rumoured for a 2022 release as 76220 The Batcycle vs Harley Quinn is a brand new 4+ set releasing on 1st August 2022. This will make it the second LEGO DC set after the rumoured 76221 Batmobile: Flash Tracking which could possibly be delayed until 2023. The brand new Obi-Wan Kenobi series has been a great success on Disney+ so far and it's likely the latest LEGO set to be based on the series will also be a success. This is 75334 Obi-Wan Kenobi vs. Darth Vader being based on the dark lord's fight with the Jedi Master in the third episode of the series. The set is another diorama being 30 studs wide with mostly grey bricks and a couple of transparent orange cheese wedges. The play features include two turntables to simulate Obi-Wan and Vader's lightsaber duel with the middle of the diorama even being openable to reveal a strip of fire. The Minifigures included are unsurprisingly Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi. There's also the Imperial Officer Tala Durith and NED-B. The next LEGO Harry Potter GWP has been rumoured with it being very similar to last year's 40452 Gryffindor Dormitory. This years is 40577 which will be available from 15th July until 31st July with any LEGO Harry Potter purchases over $130. The set itself is another mini-expansion of Hogwarts in a set worth around $15-$20. The build is made up of two castle walls at a 90-degree angle to one another. A couple of stairs are then attached to these walls which can then be rotated. The walls are covered in various portraits which are prints of famous wizards and witches. A single Minifigure of Hermione is also included in the Minifigure scale set. 2022 is set to be a great year for LEGO Star Wars fans as at least 10 more sets will be releasing in the second half of this year based on a range of films and shows. We previously released an article about all the rumoured information for this summer's wave of LEGO Star Wars but thanks to we now know even more information. This information includes Minifigure lineups and detailed information about the builds included. As we head later on into the year and away from the summer we can still expect three more LEGO Star Wars sets. These include the latest Advent Calendar, a brand new UCS set and the currently only set to be rumoured to be based on the upcoming Andor series. The Obi-Wan Kenobi sets will release a couple more months before these sets and may include spoilers for the show so watch out... 75325 The Justifier As has been previously rumoured, 75325 will be Cad Bane's ship the Justifier being based on the first season of The Bad Batch. For the Kaminoan, it'll use a normal Minifigure torso and skirt, like the one used for Princess Leia, along with a new piece to create the long neck and the head of an alien. The satellite dishes are no longer here with round plates being used instead. Overall, the legs and feet look smaller but this allows for a bigger openable interior. However, this set is not done yet as we'll finally be getting Phase II Commander Cody with it being the most detailed version yet. A brand new helmet has been specifically designed for him with holes on the side that allows accessories to be attached. Also included are three 212th Troops, a clone gunner, three battle droids and a miniature spider droid. As the end of Summer approaches so does the next Minifigure series as, for the first time in a few years, two unlicensed series will be releasing. 71032 Series 22 is already available and has been since January 2022, but now series 23 will soon follow on 1st September 2022. However, this series will be a special non-licensed series at will be another set celebrating LEGO's 90th Anniversary. The 90th Anniversary celebrations have already begun with the likes of 11021 90 Years of Play and 10305 Lion Knight's Castle soon following it in August. This is when the celebrations will really start and a Minifigure series to coincide with such a massive birthday is a high possibility. Minifigures from classic themes like Space, Castle, Pirates and more are likely to be included as remakes along with some more recent historic figures. After a year without a set for the LEGO Icons sub-theme, the Fairground Collection sets will be expanding further this year as the latest 18+ set has been officially revealed. In particular, 10303 is a brand new Rollercoaster to replace 2018s 10261 Rollercoaster which has now retired. However, this version is $70 cheaper but with, for the first time, two brick built loops for the LEGO Rollercoaster to race through. As with previous LEGO Rollercoasters, 10303 Loop Coaster has a small curved roofed station allowing Minifigures to board and exit the ride. The Rollercoaster itself consists of three light blue carriages and runs on yellow rails. Once the Rollercoaster drives out of the station onto a piece of track, it is immediately lifted up by an elevator lift to the top of the tower where a large brick-built sign of 'LOOP' is located. This tower, which is 92cm tall, can be operated with a Power-Up function for the lift so it automatically runs but it can also simply be operated by a crank to slowly lift it up. Once the Rollercoaster is at the top, there's a 180-degree turn to the right, followed by a steep 90-degree long descent. This leads into the two similarly sized loops just before the ride ends with a 270-degree turn left and a 90-degree turn right before the station. The two new loops and the elevator are the main new features of this LEGO Roller Coaster but eleven Minifigures are also included. These are seven passengers, three retail sellers and a Rollercoaster operator. Side builds include a hot dog grill stand, a pretzel shop, a small ballon bike stand, a bench for Minifigures to sit on, and a map of the park. All of these side builds are located right next to the green baseplates that are used for the Coaster build. The range of LEGO Super Heroes sets is expanding further this year with a good selection of sets mainly from the popular LEGO Marvel theme.
