The LEGO Super Mario theme is continuing to produce a range of course-building sets each year and 2023 is no different. This is because a brand new D2C for the theme has been rumoured with the set number 71426. There have currently been three LEGO Super Mario D2Cs but all have been unrelated to the cheaper course-building sets and have instead been based on brick-built LEGO Super Mario icons.
However, this year's LEGO Super Mario D2C set will be the cheapest so far with a rumoured retail price of $59.99. This is cheaper than some of the biggest non-LEGO Super Mario D2Cs so far indicating that this could be a brand new idea of subtheme for the theme. Many fans have suggested it may be a Diorama-type build for the theme similar to LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Jurassic Park.
