It's time to talk money as the LEGO Group has announced its financial results for the year 2025, revealing another year of record performance. The company reported significant growth across revenue, profit and consumer sales, assisted by its largest portfolio of products yet at 868. The Danes have once again outperformed the wider toy market, strengthening its position as the world's leading toy brand.

Financial Performance is Stronger Than Ever

According to the official results, revenue increased by 12% to DKK 83.5 billion, while consumer sales rose by 16%. This growth far exceeded the global toy market, which expanded by around 7% during the same period. The strong performance reflects continued demand for LEGO products among both children and adults, driven by a diverse portfolio of new sets, licenses and strategic partnerships.

Operating profit also grew substantially, rising 18% to DKK 22.0 billion. Net profit increased 21% to DKK 16.7 billion, underscoring the company's ability to scale production while maintaining operational efficiency. Free cash flow reached DKK 10.8 billion, allowing LEGO to continue major investments in manufacturing capacity, supply chains and sustainability initiatives.

CEO of the LEGO Group Niels B Christiansen praised the results, noting that the company's innovative portfolio and strong brand have allowed LEGO to reach more children than ever before: "We are very pleased with our record performance in 2025, building on last year’s success. Our innovative and extensive portfolio, combined with the strength of the LEGO brand and an effective operating model, drove high demand."

A Record Year for LEGO Sets

During 2025, the LEGO Group launched its largest product portfolio to date, with more than 860 products released throughout the year. Around half of these were completely new products, designed to appeal to builders across multiple age groups. This even included LEGO's first $1,000 set with 75419 Death Star and the introduction of a brand new LEGO DUPLO and 4+ theme of LEGO Bluey.

Some of the most successful themes included LEGO City, LEGO Technic, LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Icons and LEGO Botanicals. The latter of these in particular only became a fully fledged theme at the start of 2025, but has continued to bloom amongst LEGO's best builds. The annual report also highlighted the themes release of 10349 Happy Plants as LEGO Botanicals starts attracting a new fan base for brick-built flowers, hopefully helped even further by the release of 10506 Rocking Plants on the 1st of May 2026.

Exciting partnerships also played an important role in driving growth. The new Formula 1 collaboration launched its first sets during 2025 and was supported by unique activations at over twenty Grand Prix events around the world. The partnership enters its second season in 2026 through a collaboration with F1 Academy. The release of 77258 F1 ACADEMY LEGO Race Car and many other initiatives aim to inspire younger racing fans and increase engagement with girls in motorsport.

The company also continued to grow its presence in gaming and digital play experiences. 2025 marked the 30th anniversary of LEGO video games, with new titles and physical sets released for popular gaming franchises like LEGO Minecraft and LEGO Super Mario. Meanwhile, LEGO Fortnite Odyssey surpassed one billion hours of player engagement since its launch, with 2026 being another huge LEGO gaming year with the debut of LEGO Pokémon.

Major Global Investments Continue

Alongside its incredibly impressive financial results, the LEGO Group continued to invest heavily in its global infrastructure. In 2025, a new factory and regional distribution centre in Vietnam was opened, while construction has continued to progress on a major new manufacturing site in Virginia in the United States. Existing factories in the likes of Hungary, Mexico and China have also received expansions to support growing demand.

To coincide with its increasing global factory expansions, retail has played a huge part for the Danish toy manufacturer. LEGO-branded stores and LEGO.com welcomed a record number of visitors during the year while achieving their highest customer satisfaction scores to date.

The company also announced plans to expand its physical entertainment experiences by acquiring LEGO Discovery Centres and LEGOLAND Discovery Centres from Merlin Entertainments. The deal was completed just last month and includes a total of 29 attractions across nine countries, which together welcome around five million visitors annually.

Sustainability Progress Accelerates

The LEGO Group have also highlighted major progress in its sustainability strategy during 2025. Investments within this area have increased by 20% compared to 2024 and more than tripled since 2022. One of these significant investments and milestones is the fact that 52% of the materials purchased to manufacture LEGO bricks now come from renewable or recycled sources, a major increase from 33% in 2024.

Despite continued business growth and production, the company also maintained stable greenhouse gas emissions year over year while improving carbon efficiency relative to revenue. Investments in solar energy, geothermal projects and renewable energy agreements have all contributed to these improvements.

Beyond environmental initiatives, the LEGO Group has also continued its social responsibility work. In 2025, programmes focused on children's well-being and learning through play positively impacted more than 11.7 million children around the world. This will only be strengthened further in 2026 with the Play@TED global initiative.

Christiansen emphasised that these initiatives remain central to the LEGO Group's long-term vision: "We are deeply committed to having a positive impact on the world and the communities we are part of. We do this by aiming to reduce our environmental footprint and improving access to play for kids who need it most, and we will continue to invest significantly to deliver on that ambition."

With record financial results, an expanding global footprint and continued innovation across its product portfolio, the LEGO Group enters 2026 from a position of significant strength, but what do you make of the toy brand's record-breaking year?
