Brick-built LEGO animals have become very popular in recent years, from the LEGO Creator 3-in-1 theme producing a stunning yet simple range each year to the LEGO Disney line releasing play-friendly and adult-oriented models. In 2026, however, the LEGO Icons theme will be joining the animal fun with an entirely brick-built version of Golden Retriever Puppy, releasing under the set number 11384.
The Golden Retriever is a popular dog breed from Great Britain, often known for its hunting abilities and on the 1st of February, it will also be known for its brick-built interpretation. With 2,089 pieces retailing for $139.99 / €139.99 / £119.99, we can expect this Puppy to be a similar build yet also somewhat larger than 21349 Tuxedo Cat from the LEGO Ideas theme and this Summer's 43269 101 Dalmatians Puppy, which included plenty of posability and customisation.
The 18+ build will attempt to mimic the curves of a real dog's body by likely starting with a central internal structure or skeleton built using LEGO Technic beams to support the overall weight and shape of the dog. Around this core, layers of standard LEGO bricks will flesh out the chest, belly and hindquarters in shades of tan, sand and dark brown, for example.
The head of the Golden Retriever will be a focal point to capture the puppy's cute, friendly and playful look in LEGO form. Angled pieces will likely form the muzzle and forehead with a unique blend of elements utilised to represent the puppy's eyes, nose and ears. Customisable elements may also be included, just like the collars in 43269 101 Dalmatians Puppy and both the mouth and eyes of the popular 21349 Tuxedo Cat.
