LEGO City 60508 Police Train Heist Rumoured For March 2026

The LEGO City theme is already rumoured to have a busy and action-driven start to 2026, with a total of 21 sets releasing at the start of the new year. And just a couple of months later, the unlicensed LEGO theme will also see the launch of two more sets, including possibly the most expensive set of 2026 for the theme: 60508 Police Train Heist. The 7+ model includes a total of 1,313 pieces retailing for $199.99 / €199.99 / £179.99 once it's available from the 1st of March 2025.

With such a harsh price-to-piece ratio, particularly for an unlicensed theme, we suspect 60508 will be similar to the most recent LEGO City train, which was released in June: 60470 Explorer Train. Just like March 2026's model, 60470 recreated a locomotive based on one of the theme's many subthemes alongside a loop of LEGO track and plenty of exciting play features and further appropriate side builds.

Therefore, 60508 Police Train Heist is likely to be a multi-car, action-packed LEGO train blending trains, police action and a classic robbery in a brick-built model. The locomotive would form the centrepiece of the build, possibly with a sleek blue and white police livery along with lights, sirens and printed police badges. A single LEGO Minifigure will be able to conduct the train along the tracks, which will also be included as an oval loop in the 7+ model.

Immediately behind the main locomotive engine carriage may be a command car providing a mobile control centre for the police officers included in 60508. Here we might find computer consoles, radios and play features such as a small jail and storage compartments holding evidence and stolen goods.

The third and final carriage of the police train heist may be a flatbed designed to transport a highly valuable good, such as a sports car. This wagon could feature an extendable ramp or removable platform, allowing the captured vehicle to be recaptured by the LEGO crook figures included in the heist. A train stop mechanism, similar to the one found in 60470 Explorer Train, would act as another play feature, allowing the train to be hijacked and the robbers to sneakily escape.
