LEGOs Mario Day reveals are here as the toy company released official images of three upcoming sets for theme in 2024. It was just yesterday we covered rumours of the eight new LEGO Super Mario models releasing on 1st August 2024. All eight sets were expected to carry on with the course-building system and that's been confirmed with today's presentation of three new models to further expand your Mario LEGO courses. Amongst these three sets is 71435 Battle with Roy at Peach's Castle which will retail for $64.99 with a total of 738 pieces. Peach's Castle has already appeared in brick-built LEGO form with 71408 Peach’s Castle Expansion Set which released back in 2022. Compared to 2024s version, 71408 was much bigger and more expensive coming in at a price point of $129.99 with 1,216 pieces. However, it can be argued that 71435 Battle with Roy at Peach's Castle is the better of the two versions. Even though much smaller, 71435 focuses on the design of Peach's Castle more, incorporating a more compacted but also more complete build. The Castle keeps its distinctive elements such as the white brick walls and red roofs along with the iconic glass art of Princess Peach herself. Compared to 71408, 2024s 71435 has a much smaller exterior. Only a few LEGO Super Mario green tiles to represent grass are shown to be outside along with smaller details such as a couple of flowers, two Super Mario trees and a small water fountain. There's also an interactive tile for Toad who's included as one of three LEGO Super Mario brick-built characters in 71435 Battle with Roy at Peach's Castle. The other two are a Chain Chomp and the first appearance of the Koopaling Roy in LEGO form. The Chain Chomp can be used as a horse and carriage type situation with a small black and dark grey platform being attached to the enemy for Roy to sit on. LEGO may have even included a hidden interactive tile allowing Mario, Luigi and Peach to also have a ride with the Chain Chomp. Inside Peach's Castle, there's the main tower, a small catapult to help defend the castle, a rotating throne and a section of Peach's library with a cozy fire. A mysterious interactive tile is included in the section of the library along with one for the brick-built piano which is also located inside the Castle. 2024 marks the fifth year of LEGO Super Mario sets with the theme being a rare LEGO theme which doesn't include any Minifigures. The gaming theme instead makes use of Digfigs which interact with pre-stickered tiles allowing you to engage with LEGO versions of Super Mario enemies. As with all LEGO sets, but especially Super Mario models, customization is key, allowing a range of brick-built Super Mario courses to be made. However, Brick Clicker on YouTube is reporting that this Summer will see a big change for the LEGO Super Mario theme. All three starter courses of 71360 Adventures with Mario Starter Course, 71387 Adventures with Luigi Starter Course and 71403 Adventures with Peach Starter Course are all reportedly retiring at the end of July. This is because their retirement will pave the way for three brand new Starter Course sets. These are 71439 Mario Starter Course, 71440 Luigi Starter Course and 71441 Peach Starter Course which will all retail for $10 less than the original Starter Courses at $49.99. Their piece counts, even though slightly smaller, are more reasonable and friendly in terms of price per piece ratio. However, the new Starter Course are still on the expensive side due to the amount of technology and large elements used for the Digfigs. But not only are these three Starter Courses more accessible in terms of price, they also include updated Digfigs. The designs of Mario, Luigi and Peach will most likely remain the same with maybe a couple of clean-ups here and there, but the technology behind the interactive characters will improve. A couple of hardware and software updates are expected to avoid future malfunctioning of Digfigs. Along with these smaller updates, a massive change will affect how Mario, Luigi and Peach power up. Moving away from physical batteries which must be brought separately, the three characters will now have USB charging. The exact implementation of these USB accessibility is unknown but this will likely result in a more accessible use of the Digfigs and a longer play life. The August 2024 wave is basically a reboot for the LEGO Super Mario theme with the three new Starter Courses and a decent range of sets, featuring new builds but a lot of returning characters. This year's Easter celebrations kick off early as Easter Sunday takes place right at the end of March in 2024 rather than in the usual month of April. But this does mean we now have official pictures of this year's Easter promo earlier than usual. In particular, two Easter-themed Gift With Purchases will be available starting from the 12th of March 2024 of 30668 Easter Bunny with Colourful Eggs and 40682 Spring Garden House. 40682 Spring Garden House has been officially revealed today and is 2024s main Easter promotional model. It will become available starting on the 12th of March 2024 last for almost a three week period covering Good Friday and then ending on Easter Sunday. 40682 will be available during this time period with any purchases over $80 - $10 more than last year's threshold for 40587 Easter Basket. The seasonal set itself is a brick-built house which is designed to look very similar to a large brick-built Easter egg. It is coloured in yellow, blue and pink - very seasonal for spring and Easter. The house is open through the centre allowing easy access and play with the interior which doesn't include much apart from a couple of small plants and a fork. The exterior of the Spring Garden House includes a couple more plants along with a short cobbled section and some grass. Here our two brick-built characters can stand of a yellow chick and a white rabbit. One of our last reveals for January 2024 is finally here with it being the first LEGO Art set of the new year. In particular, its the previously leaked 18+ model of 31211 Macaw Parrots. The 1st January 2024 set will retail for $49.99 with 644 pieces making it a much cheaper display piece than those from the LEGO Icons theme or even the likes of 31209 The Amazing Spider-Man from earlier this year. Unsurprisingly, the artistic build for 31211 is a brick-built display model of two colourful and vibrant parrots in a 2D style form along with a small branch to sit one of the parrots. Like all LEGO Art sets released so far, 31211 Macaw Parrots can be hung from the wall, further making the 18+ model a great display piece. It may still feel a bit chilly every now and again but Spring is very quickly approaching and with that LEGO will be releasing a brand new set for the new season. In particular, it'll be a Spring Gift With Purchase which will be available both in-store and online when you spend over a certain threshold. This Spring GWP is 40683 which is entitled, thanks to fateful_lego on Instagram, Flower Trellis Display. As you can guess from the name, this 2024 GWP continues with the recent popularity of LEGO and flowers, particularly from the LEGO Icons Botanical Collection line. This time though, 40683 is more of a kid-friendly display piece with a flat brick-built structure of the Trellis used to support a wonderful and colourful selection of brick-built plants. The 440 pieces included in 40683 make up one big yellow flower, two smaller flowers in purple and a small blue and white flower. These brick-built flowers make use of lots of different pieces, particularly LEGO pieces 32192 and 10288, to create the curvature and design of the flowers. 2024's LEGO Spring GWP will be released on 1st April 2024 for a currently unknown threshold but due to a fair amount of pieces for a GWP, we expect it to be over the $100 mark and heading towards $150. LEGO and Lamborghini have been a fairly common and popular partnership in recent years that's expanding even further in 2024. 42161 Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica released only last summer but we already have official images of another version of the LEGO Technic set releasing in a months time. In particular, it's an orange recolour version of the Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica coming under the set number 42196. In recent years LEGO have slowly faded in recolour sets including a couple from themes like LEGO Icons, LEGO Technic and LEGO Creator 3in1. Just like the original, 42196 includes a total of 806 pieces retailing for a reasonable price of $49.99. LEGO and Space seems to be an inseparable occursion in 2024 as the toy company's space branding has appeared on plenty of sets in just the first few months of 2024. Amongst the sets and themes with this branding including the likes of LEGO Friends, LEGO DREAMZzz, LEGO Technic and finally LEGO City. And the LEGO City theme is lucky enough to be getting another Space set in exactly a months time. In particular, this Space branded set is 60439 Space Science Lab which will retail for $34.99 with a total of 560 pieces. For LEGO City in 2024, that's a very nice price-per-piece ratio and the official images show that the set deserves to be around that $35 price point. This is especially the case as we're getting two Space-themed Minifigures. One of these includes our first spaceman Minifigure to be in a wheelchair. A small rocket booster build can even be attached to the Minifigure and his wheelchair to allow him to fly across the intergalactic plant which our brave Minifigures are exploring. A small green alien figure is also included, further expanding our range of aliens in LEGO City sets after January saw many variations and brick-built extraterrestrial creatures. The main build itself though is of course the Space Science Lab which seems to include a dome like structure thaat can be opened up. Inside there a number of rooms including a botanical tower of alien plants, a control room with two workstations, sleeping quarters and a kitchen area complete with juice and water dispensers. As the name suggests, we've got a brand new brick-built Space Research Rover with space for two Minidolls. These Minidolls are Olivia and William who are wearing the Space Exploration outfits which were previously seen in January and return here in orange and purple. The cockpit seems to have space for just one of the two Minidolls but the interior of the Rover has two beds for Olivia and William to relax and rest. These beds can be rolled over to display a workplace with a small kitchen area included. There's also space the dog thats included in 42602 to sleep and eat dog food and biscuits. For $50, not only do we get the Space Research Rover with large orange wheels, but we also get a small planet scenery build. Here there's a range of out-of-this-world, bright colours of blue and pink. Two brick-built blue aliens are included who seem to be sitting inside of long, mysterious plants. The continued slow release of LEGO Spider-Man No Way Home sets continues into 2024 with a LEGO Marvel Construction Figure based on the 2021 blockbuster. In particular, this is 76298 Iron Spider-Man Construction Figure which will release on the 1st of April 2024 alongside 76284 Green Goblin Construction Figure. As the name suggests, 76298 is a brick-built version of Spider-Man's integrated suit which featured heavily in the third Tom Holland Spider-Man film. The April 2024 model is very similar to the other LEGO Spider-Man Construction Figure of 76226 but this time including a darker shade of blue along with hints of gold. And, of course, we can't forget the integrated golden arms which we've seen in both Minifigure form and BrickHeadz form before. However, unlike the Green Goblin Construction Figure, Iron Spider-Man is the main and only build of the set. We've known for quite a few months now that two more LEGO Marvel Construction Figures will be releasing on 1st April 2024. However, we now have further information about one of these sets in particular of set number 76298. The 2024 set was believed to be another Spider-Man Construction Figure which is true but rumours suggest it'll also be No Way Home based. 76298 will be entitled Iron Spider-Man Construction Figure and be a brick-built version of Spider-Man's integrated suit. Amongst these reveals are two brand-new LEGO Marvel Construction Figures of 76284 Green Goblin Construction Figure and 76298 Iron Spider-Man Construction Figure. The line of brick-built superhero and supervillain figures continues further even if they're not the most popular LEGO set currently on shelves. 76284 Green Goblin Construction Figure is the more expensive of the two LEGO Marvel Construction Figures releasing on the 1st of April 2024. It will retail for $34.99 compared to 76298 Iron Spider-Man Construction Figure which will retail for $29.99. The main reason for this is that 76284 includes over 100 pieces more than 76298 at a piece count of 471. For a piece count totalling almost 500, LEGO has treated us to both a brick-built version of Green Goblin and his purple glider. A couple of technic connections are included to allow Green Goblin to comfortably stand on the glider and throw his orange pumpkin bombs. The blend of the two colours and recreating Green Goblin's muscular look are the most credible reasons as to why 76284 has a larger piece count and retail price.
