LEGO Super Mario 71435 Battle with Roy at Peach's Castle Officially Revealed | August 2024

LEGOs Mario Day reveals are here as the toy company released official images of three upcoming sets for theme in 2024. It was just yesterday we covered rumours of the eight new LEGO Super Mario models releasing on 1st August 2024. All eight sets were expected to carry on with the course-building system and that's been confirmed with today's presentation of three new models to further expand your Mario LEGO courses.

Amongst these three sets is 71435 Battle with Roy at Peach's Castle which will retail for $64.99 with a total of 738 pieces. Peach's Castle has already appeared in brick-built LEGO form with 71408 Peach’s Castle Expansion Set which released back in 2022. Compared to 2024s version, 71408 was much bigger and more expensive coming in at a price point of $129.99 with 1,216 pieces.

However, it can be argued that 71435 Battle with Roy at Peach's Castle is the better of the two versions. Even though much smaller, 71435 focuses on the design of Peach's Castle more, incorporating a more compacted but also more complete build. The Castle keeps its distinctive elements such as the white brick walls and red roofs along with the iconic glass art of Princess Peach herself.

Compared to 71408, 2024s 71435 has a much smaller exterior. Only a few LEGO Super Mario green tiles to represent grass are shown to be outside along with smaller details such as a couple of flowers, two Super Mario trees and a small water fountain. There's also an interactive tile for Toad who's included as one of three LEGO Super Mario brick-built characters in 71435 Battle with Roy at Peach's Castle.

The other two are a Chain Chomp and the first appearance of the Koopaling Roy in LEGO form. The Chain Chomp can be used as a horse and carriage type situation with a small black and dark grey platform being attached to the enemy for Roy to sit on. LEGO may have even included a hidden interactive tile allowing Mario, Luigi and Peach to also have a ride with the Chain Chomp.

Inside Peach's Castle, there's the main tower, a small catapult to help defend the castle, a rotating throne and a section of Peach's library with a cozy fire. A mysterious interactive tile is included in the section of the library along with one for the brick-built piano which is also located inside the Castle. All Digfigs can interact with this tile to play a little melody on the piano and earn a bunch of coins on their way to completing the course.
