In previous years we've seen two LEGO 'tribute' Gift With Purchases with the most recent of these being the LEGO Ideas set of 40595 Tribute to Galileo Galilei. But in 2024 we'll be getting a brand new tribute promotional item of 40690 Tribute To Jules Verne's Books GWP. The 12+ model will include a total of 351 pieces for a currently unknown threshold that starts on the 21st of June 2024. The set pays homage to Jules Verne’s books with a small microscale diorama. This is in the form of, unsurprisingly, an open book with a brick-built bridge that includes a black train on it. For those Jules Verne fans out there, you'll know this is also better know as the Jules Verne Train or the "Train Time Machine" or simply the "Time Train". Also in the microscale is a brick-built hot air balloon and a golden Nautilus submarine. All of this references Jules Verne and adds to an Easter egg-heavy build for an incredible author from France. And of course, the 351 pieced build isn't complete without the man himself as Jules Verne is included as an exclusive Minifigure in 40690. 40690 Tribute To Jules Verne's Books GWP Set Name - Tribute To Jules Verne's Books GWP Set Number - 40690 Age Range - 12+ Piece Count - 351 Price - TBC GWP Release Date - 21st June 2024 40690 Tribute To Jules Verne's Books GWP becomes available on the 21st of June 2024 but what do you think? The rumour mill has been in full swing in 2024 with new themes such as LEGO Animal Crossing and LEGO Fortnite creating plenty of hype. Not only are LEGO exploring the depths of the gaming world with their new themes, but they are also heading to Broadway with the brand new LEGO Wicked theme. That's right, the iconic Westend musical Wicked will have its own LEGO theme starting on the 1st of October 2024. The musical was first performed over 20 years ago on the 10th of June 2003 but has continued to grow in popularity year on year. Wicked will become the first LEGO theme to be based on Broadway talent yet it will also tie into the upcoming Wicked movie. The highly anticipated film comes out later this year on the 27th of November 2024 - just under two months before these four LEGO sets. The film adaptation will be split into two parts due to the story's complexity and length. Part 1 is releasing this November with part 2 expected to release as early as 2025. This first wave of LEGO sets will be based on Wicked Part 1 but we expect LEGO to also cover the second part of the adaptation. LEGO today confirmed this with a teaser video on their social media platforms, a brand new page poping up on LEGO shop@home and a press release floating around the internet. Thanks to Brickset, we can share the press release with you which confirms LEGO Wicked will be a brand new theme launching on the 1st of October 2024 with four brand new sets. Something Wicked is coming... New LEGO Wicked sets to launch this autumn The LEGO Group and Universal Products & Experiences are bringing to life 4 new LEGO Wicked sets featuring mini-dolls, launching 1st October 2024! The ‘ popular ’ musical phenomenon, Wicked , becomes a two-part gravity-defying cinematic event with the first film arriving in cinemas on November 27th and the second coming in autumn 2025. LEGO Group will introduce four sets inspired by the first film that will allow fans to delve deeper into some of the most iconic scenes straight out of Oz and explore core themes, characters, and songs from the upcoming film. Wicked , the untold story of the witches of Oz, stars Emmy, Grammy and Tony winning powerhouse Cynthia Erivo (Harriet, Broadway’s The Color Purple) as Elphaba, a defiant social outcast who has yet to discover her true power, and Grammy-winning, multi-platinum recording artist and global superstar Ariana Grande (Hairspray Live!, Don’t Look Up), as Glinda, a popular young woman, gilded by privilege and ambition, who has yet to discover her true heart. “The story of Wicked creates such an incredible experience for families, so being part of the team creating LEGO sets inspired by the upcoming movie and bringing that universe to life is hugely exciting.” says Raquel Ojeda Gregorio, LEGO Wicked Design Lead at the LEGO Group. “ Wicked has some of the most magical locations and characters and recreating that with LEGO bricks is a match made in Oz. I can’t wait for fans to see these colourful sets and hope they will enjoy unlocking their imagination, creating, and telling their own Wicked -inspired stories.” Stay tuned for the full reveal of the LEGO Wicked sets later this year and coming to fans from 1st October 2024 on www.LEGO.com/Wicked . As we've already mentioned, the LEGO Wicked theme will kick off with a total of four sets ranging from $30 to $100. But as the press release states and as LEGO shop@home teases, LEGO Wicked will include minidolls rather than Minifigures. This will likely be a disappoint to many fans but the hope will be that these four sets include extremely iconic and detailed builds to make up for the lack of Minifigures. 75681 *LEGO Wicked* Set Name - *LEGO Wicked* Set Number - 75681 Age Range - 7+ Piece Count - 304 Price - $29.99 Release Date - 1st October 2024 75682 *LEGO Wicked* Set Name - *LEGO Wicked* Set Number - 75682 Age Range - 9+ Piece Count - 558 Price - $54.99 Release Date - 1st October 2024 75683 *LEGO Wicked* Set Name - *LEGO Wicked* Set Number - 75683 Age Range - 9+ Piece Count - TBC Price - $69.99 Release Date - 1st October 2024 75684 *LEGO Wicked* Set Name - *LEGO Wicked* Set Number - 75684 Age Range - 8+ Piece Count - 945 Price - $99.99 Release Date - 1st October 2024 Another year and plenty more brand-new themes from LEGO with the confirmation of LEGO Wicked releases on the 1st of October 2024. Its unique but iconic shape will be translated at an even bigger and more complex scale with obvious features such as its recognisable front, openable doors and spoiler all included. Similar to previous LEGO Icons vehicles, 10337 will include no Minifigures but there is the possibility of a couple of customizable options. It's been almost two years since the LEGO Icons model 10302 Optimus Prime released but in less than two months time LEGO and Hasbro will once again be partnering together. This time they'll be making the bright yellow transformer Bumblebee in brick-built LEGO form under the set number 10338. It will retail for $89.99 with 950 pieces which is considerably less than 2022s brick built Optimus Prime which had 1,508 pieces for $169.99. The iconic brick-built Autobot will have the same play feature as Optimus Prime where by it can transform into a car without removing or adding any pieces. The 2in1 Bumblebee model is based on its G1 appearance and therefore transforms into a yellow Volkswagen beetle. In its fully-fledged Transformers form, 10338 will measure 25 cm tall which is 10 cm smaller than 10302 Optimus Prime. Like many 18+ LEGO Icons sets, 10338 doesn't include any stickers and therefore includes an exclusive 2x2 printed yellow tile with the Transformers logo in red. Unlike Optimus Prime, Bumblebee with a much lower piece count and price will not include a couple of brick-built accessories. The brick-built Bumblebee Autobot will be the main and only build along with the usual 18+ black information plaque. 10338 Transformers: Bumblebee Set Name - Transformers: Bumblebee Set Number - 10338 Age Range - 18+ Piece Count - 950 Price - $89.99 / €89.99 / £79.99 Release Date - 1st July 2024 10338 Transformers Bumblebee releases on the 1st of July 2024 but what do you think? After the reveal of 43243 Simba The Lion King Cub a couple of weeks ago, we now have official images of another brand new LEGO Lion King set. Disney's The Lion King celebrates 30 years since it was first released in cinemas and to celebrate this occasion for the animated film, LEGO and Disney have teamed up to create two LEGO Lion King sets. And the second of the two of 43247 Young Simba the Lion King has been officially revealed today. Those of you keen LEGO fans will know that since February 2023 we have been expecting our first LEGO Lion King set licensed under the popular and ever-expanding LEGO Disney theme. A survey leaked a brand new Simba model, along with plenty more new sets, scheduled for a 2024 release if the success rate was high and clearly it went down well. Compared to the original leaked model, 43247 Young Simba the Lion King has an increased piece count of 1,445 pieces retailing for a total of $129.99. Simba is the main and only build of the 18+ model measuring 29 cm high and 29 cm deep. 43247 is obviously designed as more of a display model which can be seen by its more complex design and less moveable parts. In fact, only Simba's head and tail can be articulated meaning he always remains sat down. The brick-built Simba is of course mainly yellow but includes a few tan pieces for his belly, a brown-coloured bush for his tail and a couple of little pink elements for both his tongue and his nose. No stickered elements are included meaning his cartoon eyes are printed with all other elements including his ears, legs and paws being entirely brick-built for an incredible display piece. 43247 Young Simba the Lion King Set Name - Young Simba the Lion King Set Number - 43247 Age Range - 18+ Piece Count - 1,445 Price - $129.99 Release Date - 1st June 2024 43247 Young Simba the Lion King is one of eleven LEGO Disney sets releasing on the 1st of June 2024 but what do you think? Will you be purchasing 43247 in just a couple of weeks time? Would you like to see more LEGO sets based on The Lion King in 2025 and beyond? Over a year ago LEGO Lord Of The Rings returned with 10316 The Lord Of The Rings: Rivendell being one of the main highlights for LEGO in 2023. Even though it wasn't the start of the return of a fully-fledged theme, many fans were absolutely thrilled that the middle-earth theme was making a comeback in LEGO. But the fun doesn't stop there for LEGO Lord Of The Rings fans as 2024 is set to bring even more brand-new LEGO models... Those of you keen LEGO fans will know that since February 2023 we have been expecting another LEGO Lord Of The Rings set licensed under the 18+ LEGO Icons brand. A survey leaked a brand new LOTR model, along with plenty more new sets, scheduled for a 2024 release if the success rate was high. Clearly, the set went down well as a brand new LEGO Lord Of The Rings set has been officially revealed with a release on the 4th of June 2024. In particular, 2024's LEGO 18+ Lord Of The Rings set is 10333 The Lord Of The Rings: Barad-Dûr. The Summer 2024 model includes a total of 5,471 pieces retailing for a high, but also reasonable price of $459.99. Another expensive set for LEGO Lord Of The Rings fans but another highly detailed and Minifigure full model - perfect for play and display. It will also go perfectly with the models GWP of 40693 The Lord Of The Rings: The Fell Beast. The actual build of Barad-Dur, Sauron's fortress in Mordor, measures 83 cm high, 45cm wide and 30cm deep with the Eye of Sauron taking up most of the set and being visible at the very top of the build. Many interesting parts and pieces are used to recreate the shining eye which does in fact use a light brick as we guessed from LEGOs social media tease over the weekend. The fortress build is mainly black and grey along with orange and translucent pieces used to signify fire and lava. To ensure its accuracy, the LEGO designers have basically created the outside build to be microscale and complex in its design whilst the inside is Minifigure scale and packed full of different easter eggs. In total, along with the illuminating eye and automated black gate, there are five brick-built floors. The first-floor interior includes Gollum’s hideout, a weapons forge and a prison with a raisable Orc cage. The dining area is housed on the second floor whilst a room with a throne that opens to reveal a hidden map of Middle-earth awaits on the third. The fourth floor is home to Mouth of Sauron’s study, while the 5th floor houses a tower library with a rotating ladder. All floors act like a complicated modular system for the fortress. Just like 2023s 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell and as mentioned earlier, 10333 is Minifigure scale inside and is absolutely packed full of new and exclusive characters along with a couple of returning faces. A total of 10 Minifigures are included of Sauron in full armour, the Mouth of Sauron, Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee and Gollum along with two brown Orcs, two green Orcs and one tan coloured Orc. 10333 The Lord Of The Rings: Barad-Dûr Set Name - The Lord of the Rings: Barad-Dur Set Number - 10333 Age Range - 18+ Piece Count - 5,471 Price - $459.99 Release Date - 4th June 2024 10333 The Lord Of The Rings: Barad-Dûr releases on the 4th of June 2024 but what do you think? Will you be purchasing 10333 in just a couple of weeks time? Is this THE set of 2024? What other LEGO Lord Of The Rings are you hoping for in 2025 and beyond? Today's the day that we finally get official pictures of the eagerly anticipated next LEGO Lord Of The Rings 18+ model and we already have official pictures of the D2C's gift with purchase. 10333 The Lord Of The Rings: Barad-Dûr will be revealed later today and of course covered in depth here at Bricks Up, but along with the $460 model, we're also getting the release of a brand new LEGO Icons branded promotional set. In particular, this is 40693 The Lord Of The Rings: The Fell Beast GWP which includes 269 pieces once it becomes available on the same day 10333 releases, the 1st of June 2024. The GWP will only be available with the purchase of Barad-Dûr and will likely only be available for around five to seven days. After that we expect 40693 to go for a hefty price on after-market sales and sites such as eBay. As the name suggests, the main build of 40693 is a brick-built version of the Fellbeast - a flying creature bred by Sauron who is included as a Minifigure in 10333. Along with the 269 pieces used to create an 18+ model of the Fell Beast which includes printed plastic wings, a singular Minifigure is also included. This single Minifigure is Nazgul who will remain exclusive to 40693, again making the promotional item a very popular and rare model. 40693 The Lord Of The Rings: The Fell Beast GWP Set Name - The Lord Of The Rings: The Fell Beast GWP Set Number - 40693 Age Range - 18+ Piece Count - 269 Price - GWP of 10333 The Lord Of The Rings: Barad-Dûr Release Date - 1st June 2024 40693 The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellbeast GWP releases alongside 10333 The Lord Of The Rings: Barad-Dûr but what do you think? A theme which doesn't see many sets release every year but is still extremely popular amongst builders is the licensed LEGO Jurassic World theme. The LEGO theme based on the Jurassic Park franchise started back in 1993 and has already seen a small wave of two sets release on the 1st of January 2024. These were 76963 Baby Dinosaur Rescue Center and 76964 Dinosaur Fossils: T. rex Skull. For $24.99 with 358 pieces, 76962 is a cute brick-built version of the popular Ankylosaurus called Bumpy. Then we have two bigger and more expensive sets of 76965Dinosaur Missions: Stegosaurus Discovery and 76966 Dinosaur Missions: Allosaurus Transport Truck. 76965 retails for $64.99 with 420 pieces along with a brand new sand green mould for the Stegosaurus dinosaur. $89.99 is the price tag for 76966 which makes it the most expensive LEGO Jurassic World set of 2024. 588 pieces are included to recreate a collapsable trailer build and a dark blue and tan moulded Allosaurus figure. 76962 Baby Bumpy: Ankylosaurus Set Name - Baby Bumpy: Ankylosaurus Set Number - 76962 Age Range - 7+ Piece Count - 358 Price - $24.99 Release Date - 1st June 2024 76965 Dinosaur Missions: Stegosaurus Discovery Set Name - Dinosaur Missions: Stegosaurus Discovery Set Number - 76965 Age Range - 6+ Piece Count - 420 Price - $64.99 Release Date - 1st June 2024 76966 Dinosaur Missions: Allosaurus Transport Truck Set Name - Dinosaur Missions: Allosaurus Transport Truck Set Number - 76966 Age Range - 8+ Piece Count - 588 Price - $89.99 Release Date - 1st June 2024 All three of these LEGO Jurassic World sets based on the new Jurassic World: Chaos Theory series releases on the 1st of June 2024 but what do you think? Another expensive set for LEGO Lord Of The Rings fans but another highly detailed and Minifigure full model - perfect for play and display. Recent Reports claim we'll be seeing official images of 10333 within just the next few days as LEGO set to go all out for one of the most hyped sets of the year. Already the Danish toy company have teased the set on social media platforms showcasing the eye of Sauron glowing away at the top of the tower. Some rumours even claim that this may be hinting at the possible inclusion of a light brick in the $460 18+ model... The actual build of Barad-Dur, Sauron's fortress in Mordor, is expected to be around 83 cm high, 44cm wide and 36cm deep with the Eye of Sauron taking up most of the set and being visible at the top of the build. This does mean the main build on the outside is microscale. However, a detailed and Easter egg-packed Minifigures interior will also be included with dungeons and armouries for Sauron's army of Orcs along with a throne and a treasure room. In particular, this is 40693 The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellbeast GWP which includes 269 pieces once it becomes available on the same day 10333 releases, the 1st of June 2024. Along with the 269 pieces used to create an 18+ model of the Fellbeast, three Minifigures are also included. Even though these aren't confirmed we're expecting the likes of Nazgul, Eowyn and Merry to be included in the promotional item. 40693 The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellbeast GWP Set Name - The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellbeast GWP Set Number - 40693 Age Range - 18+ Piece Count - 269 Price - GWP of 10333 The Lord Of The Rings: Barad-Dûr Release Date - 1st June 2024 40693 The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellbeast GWP releases alongside 10333 The Lord Of The Rings: Barad-Dûr but what do you think? One of the most exciting sets of this upcoming Summer wave of LEGO Technic sets has to be 42176 Porsche Gt4 e-Performance Race Car not just because of its striking appearance but mainly because of the technology included in the 10+ model. 42716 will launch on the 1st of August 2024 retailing for a hefty price of $169.99 with only 838 pieces included. The main reason for that $170 price is the inclusion of plenty of technological elements including a new CONTROL+ hub with integrated motors and new lighting. In fact, the remote-controlled LEGO Technic vehicle is set to be LEGO's fastest CONTROL+ car to date. Both the front and rear lights of the Porche Gt4 light up with the whole technology being rechargeable via a USB connection. The car itself is a very similar size to the already revealed 42173 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut Grey Hypercar. 42176 includes just a few more pieces and of course a lot more technological elements. But the classic LEGO Technic elements of this blue and black car are still there with openable doors, an adjustable rear wing, a moveable steering wheel and plenty of stickers included on the Porsche Gt4 e-Performance Race Car. 42176 Porsche Gt4 e-Performance Race Car Set Name - Porsche Gt4 e-Performance Race Car Set Number - 42176 Age Range - 10+ Piece Count - 838 Price - $169.99 Release Date - 1st August 2024 42176 Porsche Gt4 e-Performance Race Car releases on the 1st of August 2024 but what do you think?
