LEGO Star Wars 75421 Darth Vader's TIE Fighter Officially Revealed | March 2026

SMART Play will be taking over the world of LEGO in 2026, and naturally, the first theme that LEGO is bringing this groundbreaking technology to is LEGO Star Wars. The Danish toy manufacturer has officially revealed three 'all-in-one' sets, which all include the basic fundamentals of LEGO SMART Play: the SMART Brick, various SMART Tags, exclusive SMART Minifigures and the wireless charging platform for the SMART Brick.

75421 Darth Vader's TIE Fighter is the focus of this article and is the cheapest of the three starter sets, retailing for $69.99 / €69.99 / £59.99 with 473 pieces included. The main build of the 8+ model is Darth Vader's iconic black TIE advanced starfighter, with space in the cockpit for a single LEGO Minifigure. Two other builds of a small Rebel outpost scene and an Imperial fuelling station are also included in the 2026 set.

As we've already mentioned, the special LEGO SMART Brick is included in 75421 and can be found at the rear of the cockpit of the Imperial Starfighter. A single SMART Tag is also included for the TIE Fighter, allowing the intergalactic ship to make its characteristic twin-ion-engine roar amongst many other sounds and functions. Darth Vader is included as an interactive SMART Minifigure along with a standard LEGO Minifigure of a Rebel Fleet Trooper.
