First Leaked Images of LEGO Minecraft 21589 Mini Biomes | January 2026

2026 will mark 14 years since we first saw Minecraft in brick-built LEGO form, initially under the LEGO Ideas brand as a micro-scale recreation of a small Minecraft world. But from 2014, LEGO Minecraft became a fully fledged theme, focusing on Minifigure-scale models alongside a couple of brick-built mobs and characters and even a couple of returning micro-scale sets. And the latest LEGO Minecraft micro-scale throwback set is releasing on the 1st of January 2026 with 21589 Mini Biomes.

The 12+ model includes a total of 797 pieces retailing for just $59.99 / €59.99 / £54.99. The 2026 model is somewhat similar to 2024's 21265 The Crafting Table, but this time acting as a panorama of a mini LEGO Minecraft world. Thanks to leaked images from Smyths Toy Superstores, we have our first look at the diverse range of biomes included in the set, along with five brick-built micro characters from the popular video game: Stever, a Creeper, a Mooshroom Cow, a Husk, and a Pillager.

Each character comes with a corresponding micro-scale biome, built on a 6x6 plate, which can be easily removed from the overall black display stand of the set. The biomes include a mountainous cave scene with a waterfall flowing through it, a birch forest, a mushroom field, a desert complete with our first LEGO Minecraft desert temple and a savanna complete with a pillager outpost.

With each brick-built biome scene, we also get either a small underground cave section or an underwater scene. This makes the build literally replicate a Minecraft world from top to bottom. A simple background is also attached to the black display stand of the 12+ model. This can be flipped to basically display the whole in-game process of the sun setting - starting with the blue-cloud filled sky to the beautiful orange, pink and red colours and finishing with the dark but star-filled night sky.
