LEGO Minecraft is finally expanding to Minecraft's deepest and scariest biome in 2023 with 21246 The Deep Battle. The set was the last of the seven sets releasing on 1st January 2023 that didn't have a set name but thanks to lego_minecraft_goat on Instagram we know that and more. The name itself already gives off deep dark vibes and the word 'battle' indicates the warden could be involved. A cool battle feature between the warden and a brand new deep dark player skin would be a cool inclusion. Along with some remains of the ancient city and the sculk blocks which will be fascinating to see in LEGO form, this should make a pretty good set. The set is also relatively alright in price even though it will be the most expensive of the wave as it'll retail for $64.99 with 584 pieces. Set Information Set Name - The Deep Battle Set Number - 21246 Ages - 9+ Piece Count - 584 Price - $64.99 Release Date - 1st January 2023

As 2022 starts to come to an end for the LEGO company, the focus is now on 2023 as two brand new Chinese New Year sets will be coming to celebrate the year of the rabbit. The GWP for this special celebration has already been leaked thanks to stonewars.de pictures of 40575 Year of the Rabbit. But the other two sets for the new year have now finally been officially revealed of 80110 and 80111 after this year's Chinese International Import Expo. 80111 Lunar New Year Parade is the bigger of the two retailing for $129.99 with 1653 pieces. This is the usual Minifigure scale Chinese New Year set with an exclusive year of the Rabbit Minifigure and a giant brick-built rabbit. When the float is moved, the rabbit comes to life with some movement and functionality. The other floats contain a massive drum and a collection of people dressed as popular LEGO characters over the years. Meanwhile, 80110 Lunar New Year Display is only slightly smaller with a retail price of $89.99 and a piece count of 872. As the name suggests, this is more of a display set with no Minifigures included but does have some interesting building techniques and prints. They also feature many iconic Chinese traditional symbols associated with the new year and the set allows two people to build it at once with separate instructions. Both sets will be available from 25th December 2022 in China and parts of Europe but will become more widely for places like North America on 10th January 2023. Continuing our 'every LEGO set rumoured for 2022' series, today we're looking at Direct To Consumer sets from a range of different themes. These are sets that are available directly from LEGO, have an age rating of 18+ and have the simplistic black box design. Among these sets are 17 LEGO Icons sets which include the special 90th Anniversary sets like 10305 Lion Knight's Castle and 10497 Galaxy Explorer. There's also the biggest set of 2022 of 10307 Eiffel Tower which is now rumoured to be retailing for $679.99. This will release on Black Friday similar to last year's huge Titanic but the Eiffel Tower is even bigger ranking as the second-largest LEGO set ever. But LEGO Icons isn't the only theme hitting record numbers this year as the now 18+ theme LEGO Ideas is also having a bunch of sets. These include returning licenses like 21331 Sonic the Hedgehog - Green Hill Zone and brand new licenses like the now available 21336 The Office. Other themes will also be having D2C sets including LEGO Harry Potter, LEGO Jurassic World, LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Super Mario and LEGO Marvel. The latter of these themes has already had two D2C sets and has another one rumoured for this November. 76210 Hulkbuster Mrk2 has been rumoured for a year but it will still be coming this year but at an even larger price. After the new rumours of the next LEGO Modular Building 10312, we now also have rumours about the new LEGO Modular Promo. In particular, Brick Clicker is reporting that 40586 will be 2023s LEGO Modular Building promo with the official set name Pizza Delivery Truck. This fits perfectly with the actual LEGO Modular Buliding having its first floor as a Pizzeria for the first time in the LEGO Icons theme. Apart from the set name and number, details for this 2023 Gift With Purchase are currently limited. However, the set will most likely be similar to last year's GWP of 40532 Vintage Taxi which included the main vehicle of the taxi and one Minifigure and a small section of pavement. 40586 will most likely include the same features but with a white, red and green Pizza Delivery Truck. The promotional set will also not be available immediately when the 2023 LEGO Modular Building releases. 10312 Pizzeria & Jazz Club will release on 1st January 2023 whilst 40586 Pizza Delivery Truck GWP will most likely release at the end of January or the start of February 2023. As has become a tradition for the past few years, another LEGO Modular Building will be coming in 2023 as part of the LEGO Icons theme. As previously rumoured, the set will have the set number 10312 and will include a Pizzeria and a Jazz Club thanks to Brick Clicker on Youtube. For the 16th ever LEGO Modular Building, these are new ideas which have never been seen in Modular form so it'll be interesting to see how they're implemented. For now, we know that the Pizzeria will most likely take up most of the build with it being based on the bottom floor. The usual things like tables and chairs, a pizza oven, many pizzas and a counter will be included along with other Italian decorations. This should nicely match the main colour scheme which will be dark red with either white or grey pieces to complement it. On the second floor will be the Jazz Club as LEGO expands its recent music-themed sets into Minifigure form. A stage for a band will most likely be included along with the possibility of a bar, a toilet and a dance floor. A large brick-built sign displaying 'Jazz Club' will also be connected to the building somehow. Brick Clicker also reports that there will most likely be a third floor included too. This will either be a living quarters for those working in the Pizzeria or a further expansion to the Jazz Club. With three floors and a fairly large piece count of 2899, a good selection of Minifigures should also be included. 10312 will also be a normal Modular building rather than last year's corner building, making it relatively easy to connect to previous years' sets. The Pizzeria & Jazz Club will retail for $299.99 from the usual release date of 1st January 2023. A promo will also release a few weeks later of 40586 which we'll have more information about in a separate post. Even though it's yet to be confirmed, it's likely we'll see the Spinjitzu Ninja Training version for the three remaining ninjas of Nya, Cole and Zane. All of these don't have prices or piece counts so it is a possibility that these could be something else Then in January the sets mainly consist of a continuation of last year's range of EVO sets which are meant to introduce new and younger fans to the theme. However, there is one new kind of set rumoured to be introduced in this wave when it releases on 1st January 2023. This is 71787 Creative Ninja Brick Box which many are believing to be either a LEGO Classic set for NINJAGO or a set similar to last year's 76399 Hogwarts Magical Trunk. The first LEGO 2023 sets have been revealed and they may be the intriguing ones as the LEGO Friends theme is set for a reboot the next year. The theme has now been going for 10 years but the designers have changed the direction of the sets and show to "celebrate diverse friendships in the modern world". The previous five main characters of the theme have now all grown up and instead have been replaced by a new generation. The group comprises of 8 characters: five girls and three boys with other side characters also likely to be included in different sets. Here's what we currently know about each character: Aliya is a straight-A student but lets others copy her homework. However, she's still the friend that encourages everyone to be themselves and even sets herself tough goals. Autumn is curious and adventurous which unsurprisingly has led to her love of nature. Rules are optional to her but still helps her friends to be brave like her. Leo learned to cook with his grandmother and sees food as one of the easiest ways to make new friends. When he's not cooking, he's playing football and caring about those closest to him. Zac is talented at martial arts, motocross and karaoke making him the life of the party. However, the hates losing games but this can make him a great inspiration for those around him. Liann is always up to something fun and exciting even if it does sometimes gets her into trouble. Either way, she's one of the funniest in the group and can make her friends laugh even when they're at their lowest. Olly loves fashion and wants to be famous. He's a one-kid production team who can make anything happen. Paisley is sensitive and shy but has a wonderful hidden voice. She's a great listener though and with a bit more confidence, she might be sharing some of her songs with her friends very soon. Nova has a huge following (3 million followers) with her online gaming channel but struggles and is relatively awkward in real life. However, she's a great friend and enjoys learning new things with others. Along with new characters and a wider target audience, the theme also has a new visual identity which breaks stereotypes. There is a brand new font for the logo with the main box colours now also being teal and dark purple rather than the previous pink and purple. The packaging has a photorealistic background for a fresh look with doodles to convert energy and emotions within the theme. 41724 Paisley's House Set Name - Paisley's House Set Number - 41724 Ages - 4+ Piece Count - 185 Price - $39.99 Release Date - 1st January 2023 41727 Dog Rescue Center Set Name - Dog Rescue Center Set Number - 41727 Ages - 7+ Piece Count - 617 Price - $59.99 Release Date - 1st January 2023 41728 Heartlake City Downtown Restaurant Set Name - Heartlake City Downtown Restaurant Set Number - 41728 Ages - 6+ Piece Count - 346 Price - $29.99 Release Date - 1st January 2023 41730 Autumn's House Set Name - Autumn's House Set Number - 41730 Ages - 7+ Piece Count - 853 Price - $69.99 Release Date - 1st January 2023 41731 International School Set Name - International School Set Number - 41731 Ages - 8+ Piece Count - 985 Price - $99.99 Release Date - 1st January 2023

Even though it might not be the most popular theme ever, LEGO Friends has the potential to have a great 2023 with a wide range of new sets. The designers of the theme hinted at LEGO CON that the 10-year-old theme would be having a reboot in 2023 changing the main characters and fundamentals of the theme. More rumours have now suggested that they'll be new main characters including Liann, Aliya, Leo, and Nova. This is because four new LEGO Friends Bedroom gimmick sets have been rumoured for a 1st January 2023 release. Each of these will retail for $19.99 and be around the 200-piece mark indicating they'll be of a relatively small but nice size. One of the few unlicensed successful LEGO themes is expanding further as five sets have been rumoured to be releasing for the LEGO Speed Champions theme. Four out of the five sets will be releasing on 1st March 2023 whilst another Fast & Furious set will be releasing on 1st January 2023/ However, the recent price increases have drastically affected these sets as the singular car Speed Champions sets now retail for $24.99. The double pack of a McLaren F1 LM and a McLaren Solus GT will retail for $44.99 making it a better value-for-money set compared to the singular car sets.
