After the recent cancellation of 76221 Batmobile Flash Tracking things were looking bad again for the LEGO DC theme but there is hope. This is because another LEGO DC set has been officially revealed with it being a brand new LEGO DC Batmobile releasing in just a couple of months. In particular, it'll be under the set number 76224 and be a Batman 1989 version of the Batmobile entitled Batmobile: Batman vs The Joker. The 1989 Batmobile has already appeared in LEGO form before most recently in 76139 1989 Batmobile. However, this was a 3000 pieces D2C LEGO DC set so this set of 76224 is something very different compared to that but still includes the iconic features of mainly black bodywork and fire at the rear The set will also include the 1989 versions of Batman and Joker making the $44.99 with 438 pieces a fair set for the LEGO DC theme. Set Information Set Name - Batmobile: Batman vs The Joker Set Number - 76224 Ages - 8+ Piece Count - 438 Price - $44.99 Release Date - 1st August 2023

After the recent cancellation of 76221 Batmobile Flash Tracking things were looking bad again for the LEGO DC theme but there is hope. This is because Brick Clicker on Instagram is reporting that a brand new LEGO DC Batmobile will still be releasing this year. In particular, it'll be under the set number 76224 and be a Batman 1989 version of the Batmobile. The 1989 Batmobile has already appeared in LEGO form before most recently in 76139 1989 Batmobile. However, this was a 3000 pieces D2C LEGO DC set so we can expect something quite different for this new version releasing on 1st August 2023. The set will also include the 1989 versions of Batman and Joker making the $44.99 with 438 pieces a fair set for the LEGO DC theme. Set Information Set Name - Batman 1989 Batmobile Set Number - 76224 Ages - 18+ Piece Count - 438 Price - $44.99 Release Date - 1st August 2023

Another LEGO Icons set has been officially revealed for 2023 but this set is quite different compared to all the other 18+ sets released for the theme. This is because 40634 Icons of Play is another football-based set for the theme with the recent growth and popularity in Women's football. LEGO even went as far as sponsoring the Women's Euros last year. In 40634 there is a total of 15 LEGO Minifigures including exclusive real-life Minifigures of Megan Rapinoe, Yuki Nagasato, Sam Kerr and Asisato Oshoara. These are included in the 5 real-life footballers, a manager, a referee and eight spectators who are mainly the standard LEGO Minifigures you expect but in that red football kit from the LEGO Ideas Foosball table. The build includes only half a football pitch but this includes few white lines for a penalty box along with a goal for one of the goalkeepers that are included in the set. Theres also a spectator stand, dugouts and a small trophy stand for celebration after the match. This makes for a very interesting yet exciting LEGO Icons set which releases on 6th June 2023 with 899 pieces for $99.99. Set Information Set Name - Icons of Play Set Number - 40634 Ages - 10+ Piece Count - 889 Price - $99.99 Release Date - 6th June 2023

After the recent reveal of four LEGO Super Mario Donkey Kong-themed sets, another set will also be joining the themes lineup for 1st August 2023. This is set 71427 which currently has no name but will be the retail exclusive set of the wave. LEGO Super Mario is used to having a retail exclusive set of the wave and it's usually a fair-sized build revealed at a later point compared to the rest of the wave. Due to the set not being revealed with the four LEGO Donkey Kong-themed sets, we imagine this set is nothing to do with Donkey Kong and is instead just another expansion set. For 1,062 pieces though, it should be a good expansion with hopefully another koopaling or more cool play features for LEGO Mario, Luigi and Peach once it releases on 1st August 2023. Set Information Set Name - *LEGO Super Mario Expansion Set* Set Number - 71427 Ages - 8+ Piece Count - 1,062 Price - TBC Release Date - 1st August 2023

The LEGO Videogames sets just keep on coming as not only are we getting LEGO Sonic the Hedgog sets this year, but we're also getting a Pac-Man set. This is the previously rumoured 10323 PAC-MAN Arcade which is a brand new 18+ set releasing under the LEGO Icons theme on 1st June 2023. The set will retail for $269.99 with 2,651 pieces and a fairly substantial build thanks to official images revealed today showcasing the 18+ set. The LEGO Icons set is very similar to another 18+ videogame set of 71374 Nintendo Entertainment System. Here however it's Pac-Man, in the form of a 1x1 printed round tile, who can be controlled rather than Mario and the classic yellow 8-bit character goes around the level on the arcade machine just like in real life but in brick-built LEGO form. The crank at the side of the set allows this function to work with the joystick at the front only for show. The build doesn't stop there though as two smaller extra builds are included in the $270 set. One of these is a team of Pac-Man and a red and orange ghost. The three brick-built figures are mounted on a black base which can be rotated 180 degrees so that the ghosts turn blue. And then we have a small Minifigure scale scene which includes a singular exclusive Minifigure playing the Pac-Man machine. There's also a gumball machine next to it along with a stool so that the Minifigure can rest whilst playing the game. All of this and more will be included in 10323 and its 2,651 pieces with the set releasing in just over a week's time on 4th June 2023. Set Information Set Name - PAC-MAN Arcade Set Number - 10323 Ages - 18+ Piece Count - 2,651 Price - $269.99 Release Date - 4th June 2023

With another summer wave and a couple of Ahsoka-based sets set yet to release for the LEGO Star Wars theme in 2023, it's inevitable that some older sets will soon retire. We now have more information about LEGO's retirement plan for the LEGO Star Wars theme with our information going up to 2025 but as the year goes on we'll very soon have even more information for 2025 and beyond. This will almost definitely change as more sets are released throughout 2023 and sales for the certain set either increase or decrease. However, we can say that most of the LEGO Star Wars sets that were released in 2020 will definitely have retired at the end of 2024 including more recent sets like 75331 The Razor Crest and 75341 Luke Skywalker's Landspeeder. Any LEGO Star Wars D2C sets like 75309 Republic Gunship and the rumoured 75367 UCS Venator Star Destroyer set for 2023, usually last quite a few years and always last longer than the smaller more widely available sets. However, we'd recommend getting any retiring D2Cs as soon as possible as these will quickly increase in price and go for a hefty amount of money in a few years. LEGO mechs aren't uncommon in many existing LEGO themes but finally, LEGO is expanding its mech range to the LEGO Star Wars theme. These are the mysterious $15 sets which have been rumoured for many months now but thanks to jb-spielwaren.de have been officially revealed. All of these characters have appeared in Minifigure form many times before and in the 18+ brick-built helmet style. But they'll now return in mech form based on their appearance in the original trilogy. This is because a brand new D2C for the theme will be coming next year of 76417 which will finally be an 18+ Gringotss Wizarding Bank. Unlike previous years, this be the first of two D2Cs releasing for the theme but both will be releasing on 1st September 2023. 76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank will be Minifigure scale making it fully compatible with Diagon Alley from a couple of years ago. $430 is a high price for just one corner Modular Building and that's because it will also include the underground rail system along with a rail cart. We also expect a brick-built version of the Dragon to help guard the bank and add another play feature to the D2C set. A promotional set will be coming alongside this set once it releases on 1st September 2023. This will be a Gringotts vault/safe belonging to Bellatrix Lestrange coming under the set number 40698. We'll cover this and more in another article about the GWP but for now, this is all we know about the next LEGO Harry Potter D2C of 76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank which releases in September 2023 for $429.99. Set Information Set Name - Gringotts Wizarding Bank Set Number - 76417 Ages - 18+ Piece Count - 4,804 Price - $429.99 Release Date - 1st September 2023

The biggest LEGO DC set of the year is finally here as LEGO has officially revealed LEGO DCs next 18+ D2C of 76252 Batcave - Shadow Box. After a disappointing few years for the LEGO DC theme, the toy company are finally giving it some love with this new brick-built bat cave. The Batcave will be based on 1992's Batman Returns retailing for $399.99 which is $50 less than the rumoured price but still with 3,981 pieces. Rather than previous builds, 76252 is a whole brick-built Batave shaped in a black box The back and sides are all fully covered by a giant bat symbol is at the front giving us a glimpse at the set's cool features and details. There's also the ability to open the shadow box into two with the usual hinge connections allowing further play inside the LEGO Batcave. Inside the Batcave, they'll be many different areas and functions including a place to store the different bat suits that are included in the $400 set. A batmobile is also included in the front and centre of the cave once you open it up. Beside it are different functions and gadgets including moving furniture, changing images on the big screen, a vault and a door. There are several light bricks included boosting the price up further. But the fun doesn't stop there as the set includes a wide range of Minifigures totalling to seven. These include the previous leaked 1992 versions of the Penguin and Batman himself along with another version of Batman, Bruce Wayne, Catwoman, Alfred and Max Shreck. This makes for a great set that may finally give the LEGO DC fans what they deserve but as long as you like building in black and very very dark grey. Set Information Set Name - Batcave - Shadow Box Set Number - 76252 Ages - 18+ Piece Count - 3,981 Price - $399.99 Release Date - 8th June 2023

We've already had an official reveal of four LEGO Super Mario sets for this year's summer wave but a few more are still coming on 1st August. This includes 71422 which, thanks to the LEGO Building instructions page, is entitled Picnic at Mario's House Expansion Set. The LEGO Super Mario expansion set which isn't tied to any subtheme like the Donkey Kong sets will retail for $34.99 with 259 pieces. That's a fairly high price for just over 250 pieces so we expect the set to not be very substantial and instead include another section of Mario's house in LEGO form. Along with this, it is confirmed that another Yellow Yoshi will appear in this set which has only so far appeared in 30509 Yellow Yoshi's Fruit Tree. The rest of the set will include the usual course-building elements along with a small picnic build that includes fruits and cookies. Set Information Set Name - Picnic at Mario's House Expansion Set Set Number - 71422 Ages - 6+ Piece Count - 259 Price - $34.99 Release Date - 1st August 2023

We've already had three LEGO Ideas sets release this year but we've still got a couple more including 21341 Hocus Pocus: The Sanderson Sister Cottage. This is another licensed LEGO Ideas set but this time it's more of a horror-based set which is fairly rare with LEGO sets nowadays. The set is based on the first Hocus Pocus film which released in 1993 but with the second film having released just last year, it's likely interest in this set will be high once it releases on 1st July 2023. And even though it'll be fairly expensive at $229.99, a total of 2,316 pieces are included along with a range of different Minifigures hopefully totalling to around eight or ten making the set well worth the $230. Set Information Set Name - Hocus Pocus: The Sanderson Sister Cottage Set Number - 21341 Ages - 18+ Piece Count - 2,316 Price - $229.99 Release Date - 1st July 2023

The LEGO Icons theme has many subthemes and one of the most popular amongst adult LEGO fans is the brick-built vehicles subtheme. This is thanks to the price comparison site brickmerge.de who are reporting that 10321 will be a brick-built version of the Chevrolet Corvette C1. It'll retail for $149.99 with only 1,210 pieces making it fairly expensive compared to the recent 10317 which is worth a lot more with a lot more pieces. 10321 Chevrolet Corvette C1 currently has no more rumoured information about things like doors, other functions and the specific make but we do know it will be yellow. However, with such a low piece count of 1,210 pieces we don't expect much to be included in the set apart from the Corvette itself. The set of 10321 will release on 1st August 2023 so it will still be many more months until we get official images. Set Information Set Name - Chevrolet Corvette C1 Set Number - 10321 Ages - 18+ Piece Count - 1,210 Price - $149.99 Release Date - 1st August 2023

It's only a couple weeks now until we get official pictures of one of the best LEGO DC sets ever: the rumoured 18+ Batacve D2C. The first rumours of this set appeared a few months ago but it's now been confirmed 76252 will be an 18+ Batcave for the LEGO DC film. And thanks to a recent leak and confirmation from Brick Clicker on Instagram we now know the set will be based on the 1992 film Batman Returns. 76252 will be a full Batcave for a high price of $449.99 rather than previous smaller builds, and it'll be fully enclosed by a cave build. It's basically a huge brick-built box with a bat symbol at the centre revealing the inner details of the 18+ Batcave. However, there are other ways of getting inside the interior of the Batcave as the box can open up with inge connections allowing the inside to be fully accessible with all its play features. Inside the Batcave, they'll be many different areas and functions including a place to store the different bat suits that are included in the $450 set. There's also a place to store a Batmobile and a Batwing which are both included in this D2C set making up that high piece count of 3,981 pieces. But the fun doesn't stop there as the set will include a wide range of Minifigures totalling to seven. These include the previous leaked 1992 versions of the Penguin and Batman himself along with another version of Batman, Bruce Wayne, Catwoman, Alfred and Max Shreck. This makes for a great set that may finally give the LEGO DC fans what they deserve after waiting so long for a good LEGO set. Set Information Set Name - 1992 Batcave D2C Set Number - 76252 Ages - 18+ Piece Count - 3,981 Price - $449.99 Release Date - 5th June 2023
