We've already had two LEGO Star Wars dioramas release this year but another one has now been officially revealed for a 1st October 2023 release. In particular, this is the long-rumoured 40658 Millenium Falcon Holiday Diorama which is a festive scene of one of the most iconic ships from the Star Wars franchise. The sequel-based set includes 5 characters, 282 pieces and retails for a fair price of $29.99. The set which will be available exclusively from LEGO stores from 1st October 2023 is based on the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special show a few years ago. This featured on Disney+ around November/December of 2020 and included many iconic Star Wars characters but mainly those from the sequels. And these sequel characters are included in 40658 as we'll be getting Rey, Finn, BB8 and Chewie. Rey comes with a green lightsaber and a green festive jumper and Finn comes with a blue lightsaber and a blue festive jumper. Meanwhile, Chewie and BB8 are just reprints but a brick-built Porg is also included as the fifth character. Together all the characters can huddle around the table for the Christmas Dinner or admire the Christmas tree and play with the microscale galactic toys included with the set. The LEGO Ideas set is the sixth of the year with it being the highly anticipated 21343 Viking Village. The $130 sets was officially revealed today, exactly a month before its release on 1st October 2023 with the final LEGO Ideas set releasing on 1st November 2023 of 21344 Orient Express. But back to 21343 Viking Village, the 18+ set is following in the footsteps of 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay by bringing back memories of an old LEGO theme. This time it'll be LEGO Vikings that 21343 Viking Village will be bringing back the nostalgia with a village full of authentic details for the four Viking Minifigures included. These consist of a blacksmith, a chief, a shieldmaiden and an archer. 21343 Viking Village is still very similar to the original submission by BrickHammer with 21343 retailing for $129.99 with 2,103 pieces which is just three more than the original submission roughly had. And as you can see from the pictures the Viking Village is a decent size, expanding a greater distance than the original submission thanks to some design improvements from the LEGO team like the change in colour to reddish brown. The main features of the Viking Village such as the small blacksmith's shop and the blacksmith's house are included just like the original submission from 3 years ago. For $130 there's also the chief's longhouse, a watchtower with a suspension bridge and a cave in which the Vikings dig for minerals. And there's even more, such as the removable roofs, included in 21343 which will be available in stores from 1st October 2023. With three more sets still to release for the LEGO Ideas theme in 2023 including 21344 Orient Express, it's inevitable that some older sets will soon retire. We now have more information about LEGO's retirement plan for the LEGO Ideas theme with our information going up to 2025 but as we go into next year we'll be able to add more sets to the 2025 list and start the 2026 list as the LEGO Ideas theme continues to go from strength to strength. This will almost definitely change as more sets are released this year and next year, including the rumoured 21343 Viking Village for October 2023, and sales for certain sets either increase or decrease. However, we can say that most of the LEGO Ideas sets that were released in 2020 will definitely have retired at the end of 2025. The first two episodes of the Disney+ show Ahsoka aired last week and with that comes a range of brand new LEGO Star Wars sets. Just like The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka will be getting brand new LEGO sets alongside its release with these three LEGO sets releasing on 1st September 2023. These three sets are 75357 Ghost & Phantom II, 75362 Ahsoka's T-6 Jedi Shuttle and 75364 New Republic E-Wing vs. Shin Hati's Starfighter. All have the Ahsoka branding on their boxes to signify their relationship with the show. The release of the next LEGO Harry Potter D2C of 76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank is only days away and now we finally have official pictures of the promotional set to coincide with the release. In particular, this promotional set is 40598 which is a Minifigure scale expansion to the 18+ Gringotts Wizarding Bank entitled Gringotts Vault. For 212 pieces, the set includes another vault to add to the three vaults that are already included with 76417. This time though the vault is slightly bigger and more accessible with an opening feature from the back. There's also a small hole on top of the vault so that coins can be placed inside the vault like a LEGO piggy bank/money box In front of the vault is another section of rollercoaster allowing the minecart included in this set and in 76417 to ride along through the underground vaults. A singular Minifigure of an unnamed Goblin is also included to further expand upon the Goblins included in 76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank. This makes for another great promotional set from the LEGO Harry Potter theme which will release on the same day as 76417 - 1st September 2023. And it will also be available with any LEGO Harry Potter purchases as long as they are over the threshold of $130. It's still unconfirmed how long the promotional set will be available for but we expect around two weeks or at least until stock runs out. As rumours for 2024 continue to ramp up it's time to look at all the sets currently rumoured for one of the most popular LEGO themes, LEGO Icons. The 18+ theme has had another busy 2023 and 2024 seems to be similar with a whole range of licensed and unlicensed sets. There are even some cheaper sets like 10331 which only retails for $49.99 and 10330 which is slightly more expensive but still reasonable at $79.99. Other cheaper LEGO Icons sets include two more Botanical Collection sets which both release on 1st January 2024. The names of the sets 10328 and 10329 are currently unknown but we expect another bouquet along with a set more similar to 10311 Orchid where a singular plant is included in a beautifully designed pot. Also releasing in January for the LEGO Icons theme is the yearly Modular Building. This year it comes under the set number 10326 but apart from that little more is known about the brick-built building. A set we do know a lot of information about though is our first-ever LEGO Dune set of 10327 Dune Ornithopter. For $164.99, the 18+ set was previously rumoured to release this year but, along with the second film, has been delayed. Finally, we have two more sets of interest to cover which will release at some point during the first half of 2024. The first is a brand new LEGO NASA space set of 10341 which release in either April or May. As we reported only a few weeks ago, at least four more LEGO Icons sets are releasing in 2024 with two of them now being rumoured to be Botanical Collection sets. The subtheme has been very popular with adult fans and at least two more of 10328 and 10329 will be coming on 1st January 2024. Both are similarly priced at $59.99 and $49.99 respectively, with piece counts of 822 and 758 respectively. The names of both sets are currently unknown but we imagine them to be similar to this year's Botanical Collection sets which were released in February. These were 10313 Wild Flower Bouquet and 10314 Dried Flower Centerpiece. The rumours for 2024 are not slowing up anytime soon as LEGO Monkie Kid is another theme that will continue for another year. This unlicensed LEGO theme will most likely have another two waves in 2024 with one in the summer and the other this rumoured January 1st wave which includes a total of five sets. Of these rumoured five sets only four of them have set names and all five have no piece counts or prices so far. The biggest set of the wave will most likely be 80054 Megaloplis which is the name of the huge Monkie Kid city that has recently appeared in the animated TV series. A range of creative and colourful buildings are likely to be included giving us NINJAGO City vibes. The other sets are standard LEGO Monkie Kid sets which we've seen throughout the last four years. 80050 Vehicle Creations will most likely be the cheapest of the five but include a range of pieces to create an even bigger range of vehicles. Summer may not be over yet but LEGO has already revealed two brand new sets for this years Halloween. We've already had two seasonal sets revealed for this Christmas with a new Winter Village set coming soon and another new Christmas set has now been revealed. 40499 Santa's Sleigh will be available from 1st October 2021 along with 40494 Polar Bear & Gift Pack and 40498 Christmas Penguin. The set itself is just what it says on the box, Santa's Sleigh led by a few reindeers. In particular, these four reindeers that lead the sleigh were previously exclusive to 10275 Elf Club House. All of the reindeers are connected to the sleigh via connections in the middle which are then connected to their bodies. The buildable sleigh is the classic red with an area for the Santa Minifigure to sit and an area filled with toys at the back. These include a guitar, a teddy bear, some skis and much more brick-built toys. An exclusive 2x4 printed tile of Santas list is also included along with other exclusive prints for the sleigh. As has become a tradition for the past 15 years, another LEGO Modular Building will be coming in 2024 as part of the 18+ LEGO Icons theme. The set will have the set number 10326 but no set name, price or piece count has been rumoured yet. This year's modular was 10312 Jazz Club which added our first-ever Jazz Club and Pizzeria to the lineup of brick-built 18+ buildings. A similar case will most likely happen next year with either a brand new idea for a building or a remade building with more modern architecture and better Minifigures. The 17th ever LEGO Modular Building will be available from 1st January 2024 with a reveal most likely around the start of December or end of November. A promotional set of 40681 will also be available around 1st January 2024 for the Modular Buildings release.
