The Chinese New Year celebrations may be behind us, but the LEGO Group is leaning further into Chinese and Asian culture this year with the release of two Chinese Festivals sets. Rather than any LEGO Monkie Kid models in 2026, we'll be getting both 80120 Carp Jumping Over the Dragon Gate and 80121 Song Dynasty Architecture on the 20th of May 2026.
The two 9+ models will recreate icons from Chinese history and mythology in brick-built LEGO form, as part of a continued shift toward the Danish toy manufacturer's focus on cultural storytelling and display-focused builds. Rather than just seasonal Lunar New Year sets, we may be getting builds based on mythology and historical architecture each year from the incredible continent of Asia.
80120 Carp Jumping Over the Dragon Gate
80120 Carp Jumping Over the Dragon Gate appears to draw from a well-known Chinese legend in which a carp swims upstream and leaps over the Dragon Gate waterfall. Retailing for $59.99 / €59.99 / £54.99, the story will produce a vibrant and colourful LEGO set, hopefully including a motion-heavy play feature involving the brick-built carp actually swimming.

80121 Song Dynasty Architecture

Known as the Golden Age and a time of economic growth, in 80121 Song Dynasty Architecture we can expect intricate, elegant wooden structures to be translated into brick-built LEGO form.
