Test Your LEGO Knowledge with the Higher or Lower LEGO Game!

LEGO fans, it’s time to show off your brick-building knowledge! Gareth, a devoted LEGO fan and creator of the well-loved online game Higher or Lower, has launched a brand-new LEGO-themed mode.

This exciting addition challenges players to guess which LEGO set is more expensive, based on the recommended retail price (RRP), or guess which LEGO set includes more pieces. It’s simple, fun, and highly addictive as you work hard to continuously get your name higher on the scoreboard. Whether you’re a lifelong collector or just enjoy the occasional build, this game is a great way to test how well you know your LEGO bricks.

How Does It Work?

The aim of the LEGO Higher or Lower game is straightforward: guess correctly which LEGO set costs more or has more pieces to build a streak and achieve the highest score possible. But it’s trickier than it sounds! Gareth has carefully chosen sets that will keep players hooked, entertained and often confused, having handpicked only the biggest, most iconic, and often expensive LEGO sets. From jaw-dropping Ultimate Collector Series Star Wars models to some of the most stunning 18+ LEGO Architecture and LEGO Icons sets we’ve ever seen, each comparison presents a unique challenge.

Fancy giving it a try? Head over to higherorlowergame.com/lego (or download the free app on the App Store and Google Play) and see how high your score can go on the two available game modes. We dare you not to get hooked!

The Story Behind the Game

This isn’t just any online game – it’s a passion project from another extremely talented Adult Fan of LEGO (AFOL). Gareth told Bricks Up that he came up with the idea during a regular trip to the LEGO aisle in a department store:

"As I was browsing the colourful array of LEGO sets, it hit me – what if there was a way to turn this into a game? A game where LEGO sets would go head-to-head in a competition, challenging players to guess which one is more expensive, or has more pieces. That’s when the concept of the LEGO game mode was born!"

For Gareth, the joy of creating this game was all about giving back to a community that celebrates creativity. He explained:

"Growing up in the ’90s, LEGO was one of my favourite things to do, and I’m thrilled that LEGO still holds that special place in so many people’s hearts today, both young and old. This game is my way of sharing that love and celebrating how LEGO continues to inspire creativity and joy around the world."

The Creation Process

Building the LEGO mode into the popular Higher or Lower game wasn’t as simple as picking random sets. Gareth wanted to make the game fun for all LEGO fans by ensuring it struck the perfect balance between familiarity and challenge. To do this, he scoured the internet for the most iconic, awe-inspiring, and widely recognised LEGO sets. He carefully excluded sets that would be too small or too obscure, instead focusing on impressive fan favourites.

The final lineup includes nostalgic LEGO Star Wars sets, massive 18+ builds, and iconic movie scenes recreated in brick-built form. Each set comparison offers a unique challenge, ensuring every player stays engaged in this simple yet entertaining online game.

What’s the Goal?

At its heart, the LEGO Higher or Lower game is all about fun and connection. Gareth hopes it will bring LEGO fans together, whether through friendly competitions to beat each other’s high scores or casual chats about favourite LEGO sets:

"My goal is to bring a new, fun way for LEGO fans to interact and challenge one another. I hope that enthusiasts will enjoy testing their knowledge of LEGO sets, sharing their high scores, and challenging friends to see who’s the ultimate LEGO expert. Whether you’re a casual builder or a die-hard collector, I want this game to bring even more fun to the incredible world of LEGO."

Why You Should Try It

This game is more than a test of brick-building knowledge – it’s a chance to relive the excitement of discovering LEGO sets and their respective piece counts and retail prices. Each comparison takes you on a journey through some of LEGO’s most iconic creations in recent years. Plus, it’s a great way to learn about sets you might not have seen before in the most enjoyable way possible.
