The LEGO Star Wars theme is ready for another action-packed wave of sets with models being revealed left, right and center for the theme. A part of this brand new August 2024 wave of LEGO Star Wars is a brand new D2C of 75398 C-3PO. Our first ever brick-built version of the fan favourite droid C-3PO will be released on the 1st of August 2024 for $139.99 / €139.99 / £124.99 with a total of 1,138 pieces included.
C-3PO has been a common character in the Star Wars franchise and that has carried over into LEGO form too so it's a surprise that it's taken LEGO so long to create a brick-built version of the droid. We've already seen three buildable R2-D2's release, including this year's 75379 R2-D2, and Chewbacca with 2023s 75371 Chewbacca. 2024's 75398 C-3PO is officially built on the same scale as 75379 R2-D2 but will make a great display model alongside the brick-built version of Chewy too and all the other R2-D2s.
75398 C-3PO measures over 38 cm tall with a fair amount of larger moulds and pieces used to recreate this LEGO version of C-3PO. Obviously, a lot of shiny gold elements are included to create the brick-built protocol droid which also comes with his silver leg. Sadly, the gold pieces are pearl gold and not metallic gold with a couple of stickers also being included to show the droid's cables in the stomach area. However, C-3PO is moveable with the head being fully rotatable and the arms can be raised to the droid's shoulder points.
Being an 18+ model, a small display stand of the Tatooine desert along with an information plaque for the droid is also included. This black information plaque/display stand also has room to display the single Minifigure included in 75398 of C-3PO himself. However, it is sadly the same C-3PO minifigure that’s currently exclusive to 75341 Luke Skywalker's Landspeeder, complete with that dual-moulded silver leg.
