Updated: Jun 3

The LEGO Group and The Pokémon Company International have officially unveiled the next major wave of LEGO Pokémon sets, introducing twelve brand new LEGO Pokémon SMART Play builds arriving on the 1st of August 2026.

Featuring fan favourite Pokémon, including Pikachu, Charizard, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Gengar, Eevee, Mewtwo, and Mew, the latest lineup expands the LEGO Pokémon theme with a strong focus on interactive, screen-free play powered by LEGO SMART Play technology, rather than February's 18+, display-focused collection.

Unlike traditional LEGO building sets, the revolutionary LEGO SMART Play allows Pokémon builds to react to how children interact with them through light, sound, sensing and motion technology built into the LEGO SMART Brick system. According to the LEGO Group, the technology includes more than twenty patented innovations designed to encourage creativity, storytelling, nurturing, training and battle-inspired play experiences.

The August 2026 assortment includes two SMART Play All-in-One sets and ten SMART Play Compatible expansions. All-in-One sets contain everything required for a complete SMART Play experience, including SMART Bricks, chargers and SMART Tags, while compatible sets expand existing setups with additional Pokémon, locations, battles and adventures.

72155 Berry Bash with Bulbasaur and Bidoof

Kicking off the wave is a small 240-piece set centred around Bulbasaur and Bidoof. 72155 Berry Bash with Bulbasaur and Bidoof appears to lean heavily into the Pokémon care and bonding aspects of SMART Play, challenging builders to prepare snacks and keep their hungry Pokémon companions happy.

The build includes a colourful berry smoothie station complete with a juicer, accessories and interactive feeding opportunities.
