LEGO Pokémon 72167 Charizard vs Jolteon Ultimate Battle Rumoured For August 2026

Just a few days ago, we covered both the rumoured 18+ additions to the LEGO Pokémon line and the theme becoming just the second LEGO license to embrace LEGO SMART Play after eight LEGO Star Wars SMART Play sets were released in March.

Following on from these rumours, we now have confirmation via an unofficial leak that a fifth LEGO Pokémon SMART Play set is coming this summer, alongside 72157 Charmander and Geodude's Cavern Clash, 72159 Jigglypuff Concert, 72164 Pikachu's Training House, and 72166 Cubone and Gengar's Spooky Showdown. All five will release on the 1st of August 2026, expanding the Pokémon license to more play-friendly, interactive models aimed at a younger audience.

This set, in particular, is 72167 Charizard vs Jolteon Ultimate Battle. The 8+ model includes a total of 751 pieces and functions as an All-In-One SMART Play set, just like three of the previously mentioned LEGO Star Wars SMART PLAY sets. 72167 includes four SMART Tags, two of 2x4 LEGO SMART Bricks, and a yellow SMART Charger, allowing the technology-driven bricks to recharge for action-packed Pokémon play.

Away from all the costly technology, the over 700 bricks focus on two new additions to the LEGO Pokémon theme: Charizard and Jolteon. Charizard may have already appeared in February's 72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise, but the version in 72167 is much smaller and more accessible.

With that said, however, the iconic Fire-type Pokémon is still a decent size and is only slightly bigger than the brick-built LEGO version of Jolteon. Charizard is primarily bright orange with turquoise colouring on the inner surfaces of its wings and a small yellow flame accent on the tip of its tail. It's tails and wings have plenty of posability along with the character's legs, arms and head, which features unique printing for the creature's eyes.

Jolteon, meanwhile, is predominantly bright yellow with white accents around its neck and rear spikes. The electric-type Eeveelution also uses a flat, printed piece to depict its battle-ready face. Just like Charizard, Jolteon has movement in its legs, feet, rear spikes of fur and ears. A SMART Brick is hidden behind its patch of white fur on its belly, again in a similar positioning to its fellow brick-built Pokémon in 72167, Charizard.

Alongside the two brick-built LEGO Pokémon, the 8+ model includes a small battle-like target base featuring two printed round 2x2 targets that can easily be flipped up and down. These look to be attached to a small rocky and lava terrain, which also includes one of the four SMART Tags to interact with the two SMART Bricks included in 72167 Charizard vs Jolteon Ultimate Battle. A tiny brick-built Poké is the final side build of the 2026 set.
