With a brand new wave of LEGO NINJAGO sets releasing within the next week, the theme is set to continue with another wave in the summer. These will release in either June or August 2023 with a brand new 'gimmick' wave appearing in March 2023. All three are Spinjitzu Dragon Power sets retailing for $9.99 based on the characters Kai, Lloyd and Nya.
Howevere, the main focus for LEGO NINJAGO fans has to be the summer wave which continues with the LEGO NINJAGO story. This means the Summer 2023 sets will release around the same time as the new season for the LEGO NINJAGO TV series. It'll be very interesting to see what they did with the show since the last season was nicknamed the 'engame' with all crystallised stuff.
But these sets give us a little hint at whats to come and offer a much wider variety of builds and Minifigures compared to January 2023s EVO sets. Two sets have over 1,000 pieces and will most likely retail for over $100. These are 71796 Elemental Dragon vs. Empress Mecca and 71797 Ninja Assault Ship: Race Against Time which both screen classic LEGO NINJAGO.
There also seems to be some new characters within this wave. Of course there the usual Kai, Lloyd, Zane, etc but there are also some new names that we spy. Particualrly Ras, Sora and Arin which feature in 71789, 71792 and 71794 repesctivly. Set 71793 also sounds like it could be quite an interesting set as the name Heatwave Transofrming Lava Dragon suggests big things for the villains of the LEGO NINJAGO universe.
