LEGO Icons 40893 The Lord of the Rings: Grond GWP Rumoured For 1st June 2026

We are less than 24 hours away from the official reveal of 11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith, and so what better time than now to cover the rumoured Gift With Purchase for what's expected to be easily the biggest LEGO Icons model of 2026.

In particular, alongside the second LEGO The Lord of the Rings set of 2026, 40893 The Lord of the Rings: Grond will be available. The Icons-branded promotional item will be available starting from the 1st of June 2026, exclusively with 11377. It will likely last only a couple of days, or even hours, if last year's 40761 The Lord of the Rings: Sméagol & Déagol GWP is anything to go by.

For those who don't know, Grond is one of the most iconic weapons from The Lord of the Rings trilogy. It is the massive battering ram used by the forces of Mordor during the assault on Minas Tirith, making it the perfect GWP to go alongside the brick-built LEGO version of the capital city of Gondor. It'll be interesting to see, however, exactly what scale the LEGO Group reproduce Grond in compared to the mix-and-match of Minifigure and micro-scale for 11377.

Either way, the build of 40893 The Lord of the Rings: Grond will be a literal construction of the wolf-headed battering ram and its supporting mobile siege tower. The signature wolf head design will be front and centre of the battering ram, along with chained structural elements supporting the siege weapon. A relatively dull yet accurate colour scheme of brown, grey and black will likely be utilised in the 18+ promotional build.

Finally, 40893 and its 307 pieces also included two LEGO Minifigures to go alongside the ten already included in 11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith. These are reportedly two generic Mordor Orc Minifigures, but at least one of these orcs features an exclusive face print. Standard weaponry accessories, such as scimitars or spears, could also make an appearance.
