The LEGO Ideas Typewriter has now been officially revealed becoming the 35th LEGO Ideas set. The 18+ set will be available from 16th June for LEGO VIPs and 1st July for everyone else. The model measures 12cm high, 27cm wide and 26cm long making it roughly the size of an actual typewriter.
The brand new LEGO Ideas set is based off Steve Guiness' original idea. Steve Guiness is a life long LEGO fan who also has a passion for vintage typewriters. For this set, he combined both of his passions to make an amazing set. Its design is also based off the classic typewriter used by LEGOs founder, Ole Kirk Kristiansen.
The brick built Typewriter moves and sounds just like a real typewriter. The centre type bar rises every time a printed letter key is pressed. It is linked to the carriage that moves along the top of the model as you type. Theres even a platen roller which you can put real paper into.
