Ever since the launch of 10333 The Lord Of The Rings: Barad-Dûr earlier in June, everyone has been wondering whether LEGO will continue with its very recent tradition of releasing a brand new LEGO Icons Lord Of The Rings set each year. This first started with 10316 The Lord Of The Rings: Rivendell and obviously continued with a brick bult version of Sauron's fortress in Mordor.
But now, as we continue to learn of more and more rumoured sets for 2025, will we be getting another LEGO Lord Of The Rings D2C? The answer is unsurprisingly yes as both of the previous LEGO Icons LOTR models have gone down extremely well. In fact, just those two sets of 10316 The Lord Of The Rings: Rivendell and 10333 The Lord Of The Rings: Barad-Dûr have been popular enough to outshine many of LEGO's existing themes.
The Shire is the idyllic homeland of the Hobbits in J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and according to Instagram user TandNBricks will be appearing in brick-built form at some point in 2025. The last LEGO set to tackle part of the Shire was 2012s 79003 An Unexpected Gathering which recreated the iconic underground dwelling of the Hobbits Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, Bag End, out of LEGO bricks.
The upcoming LEGO Icons model will most likely focus on Bag End as it is one of, if not the most iconic location in Tolkien's middle-earth world. With a reported price of around $299.99 to $349.99, we can expect an extremely detailed set featuring the iconic round green door, cosy Hobbit interiors like Bilbo’s study and kitchen, lush gardens, and minifigures like Frodo, Bilbo, and Gandalf.
Alternatively, LEGO may focus on the whole of the Shire and the homeland of the Hobbits. Other iconic Hobbiton landmarks beyond Bag End, may be included such as Hobbit-holes, the Party Tree with decorations from Bilbo's birthday, the Green Dragon Inn, bridges, winding paths, and lush landscaping filled with plants and flowers. Minifigures of beloved characters like Sam, Merry, Pippin, and Rosie Cotton will hopefully also make an appearance in what will be another exciting, detailed and Minifigure-packed 18+ model.
