LEGO Icons 10331 Kingfisher Bird Officially Revealed | February 2024

The LEGO Icons theme is one of the biggest LEGO themes currently on shelves and 2024 looks to expand the themes range even further. Already three sets have released this year for the line of adult-targeted LEGO sets but another one will also be releasing in less than a months time on the 1st of February 2024. This new 18+ set belongs to a brand new subtheme for 2024 and has fianlly been officially revealed by LEGO.

The new 18+ subtheme, similar to the Botanical Collection subtheme with plants, focuses purely on brick-built models of a collection of different animals. The subtheme is named 'Fauna' which refers to all of the animal life present in a particular region or time. So we can expect to see animals of a particle region, habitat or geological period appearing in LEGO form over the next few years and throughout 2024.

One of the first of these, after the LEGO Art set of 31211 Macaw Parrots, is 10331 Kingfisher Bird which is available from the 1st of February 2024. The Kingfisher bird will retail for $49.99 with 834 pieces with plenty of little, intricate pieces being used to create specific details of the brightly coloured bird. Those bright colours of an orange underbelly and blue feathers are translated here into LEGO form along with its long beak.

Other features of the $50 set include a very detailed display stand for it to be sat/posed on. The stand will be plain black but includes a light blue pond with some reeds. The brick-built Kingfisher then sits on this stand as if it's flying out of the water beneath it. The wings can then be opened for further display options and a small brick-built fish can also be placed in its mouth as if it's just caught its LEGO breakfast.
