LEGO DC 76271 Batman: The Animated Series Gotham City Officially Revealed | April 2024

LEGO DC is finally here in 2024 and what a way to arrive late to another action-packed year of LEGO. The latest LEGO DC set has just been officially revealed, showcasing another LEGO DC-themed D2C after 2023s 76252 Batcave - Shadow Box. 76252 became the biggest LEGO DC set of all time with 3,981 pieces retailing for $399.99 but all that is about to change with the debut of 76271 Batman: The Animated Series Gotham City.

The Batman-themed set, once it releases on the 4th of April 2024, will be the biggest LEGO DC set of all time with 4,210 pieces. At a much more reasonable price of $299.99, the 18+ set won't become the most expensive LEGO DC set mainly due to its LEGO Art-like features. 76271 is basically a 3D-style LEGO Art set showcasing the beautiful yet crime-ridden Gotham City at night in brick-built LEGO form.

Like a LEGO Art set, the 30-inch (76 cm) long 18+ model can be mounted to the wall. 15 panels can then be removed to reveal hidden features and places inside the crime-ridden Gotham City. These include Wayne Manor, the Batcave, Arkham Asylum, Poison Ivy's greenhouse, Joker's amusement park and whatever mischievous things the Villians of Gotham may be up to.

All of this is happening at night so we get a beautiful skyline with a mix of different shades of red behind the tall buildings and towers of Gotham. In the beautiful night sky, there is the slowly rising moon, a few police blimps with their lights shining down on Gotham, a printed bat signal and the batwing. You may even be able to spot a small brick-built version of Jokerland which even includes a Joker-themed Ferris Wheel.

Right at the top of the Gotham City backdrop is the word Batman. This is brick-built using a range of panels in white and other pieces in black and can be easily removed and altered if you prefer. There are also little Batwing and Batmobile builds which can be displayed alongside the set along with more buildings which can be swapped out with existing buildings and panels.

The $300 set isn't complete without a range of Batman-themed Minifigures. A total of four are included in 76271 of Batman, The Joker, Harley Quinn and Catwoman. All four characters are exclusive to 76271 Batman: The Animated Series Gotham City and can be displayed on a brick-built grey roof ledge with gargoyles. Another small but extremely welcomed addition to LEGO DCs biggest set of 2024!
