LEGO Day of the Dead Set 40811 Altar of the Dead Officially Revealed | August 2025

Among the many sets releasing this summer, a brand-new brick-built LEGO model is launching to celebrate the vibrant and deeply meaningful traditions of Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos). In particular, 40811 Altar of the Dead is releasing on the 1st of August 2025 to celebrate this year's widely observed Mexican holiday. The 9+ model includes a total of 231 pieces retailing for $14.99 / €14.99 / £12.99.

The most recent LEGO set celebrating Day of the Dead is 2021's LEGO BrickHeadz model, 40492 La Catrina. In 2025, however, 40811 recreates a small, decorative brick-built skull on one side and an altar on the other using a range of seasonal colours. The plain white skull is perfectly designed with large open eyes, a small triangular nose and more white around its teeth. The colour is introduced with the different-sized flowers, which can be placed on any showing studs located on the brick-built skull.

The other side of the set is the actual Altar of the Dead, which features even more festive colours and details. There's an arch of colourful flowers, more flowers located in mini LEGO vases, multiple Day of the Dead-themed tiles, various food offerings, and so much more. The 9+ model is the perfect display model for this year's Día de los Muertos, with plenty of options for customisation.
