LEGO and flowers have been an unlikely mix over the last few years resulting in a spike in sales for the toy company, particularly amongst adult fans. However, LEGO are still pushing for further sales amongst younger fans too and seem to be doing this by rebranding 40646 Daffodils.
The set was previously under the LEGO Icons theme with the standard 18+ black box design. But rumours suggest LEGO will be retiring 40646 at the end of 2023 to then rerelease it on 1st January 2024. This time it will be under the LEGO Creator theme with the set number 40747 and still keeping the set name Daffodils.
This change will see the set return to a more colourful box design and put it in line with the likes of 40647 Lotus Flowers and 40460 Roses. Apart from the rebranding, the only other change to the set is a small price increase to $14.99. The exact same piece count of 216 is still included meaning we'll be getting two yellow and two white brick-built flowers for a total of $15 once it releases on 1st January 2024.
