LEGO City 60422 Seaside Harbour with Cargo Ship Rumoured For June 2024

From construction to crazy robotic-themed roller-coasters, the next wave of LEGO City sets looks to have it all including a brand new harbour-themed model. In particular, this is 60422 Seaside Harbour with Cargo Ship which comes with 1,226 pieces retailing for a fair price of $109.99. This makes it the biggest set of the Summer 2024 wave for the unlicensed LEGO theme, having just over 100 more pieces than 60409 Yellow Mobile Construction Crane.

It's been almost 20 years since our last Crago Ship LEGO City set with 2007s 7994 LEGO City Harbor. Many other large ships have been seen in the LEGO City theme since but mainly in ocean and artic exploration subthemes. Luckily, 60422 will see the return of a LEGO City Cargo ship with the $110 set including a brand new smaller cargo ship in orange, blue and white.

Along with the cargo ship, we have a seaside harbour which probably takes up around half of 60422s 1,226 piece count. On this seaside harbour there's a loading bay with a built-in red crane. Using this crane builders will be able to attach the two containers included in 60422 and place them on the cargo ship. The two containers are coloured blue and brown and look to continue different sea vehicles such as jet skis in blue and green.

The rest of the seaside harbour moves away from the busy industrial area and heads to a more calming and full-of-life recreational section. The main buildings here are a seafood restaurant along with a small ice cream shop perfect for those lying on the small beach section. Next to the beach section, there's also a small pier where Minifigures can go fishing. Other elements of the harbour include a couple of benches, a map and a street light.

60422 also includes a total of eight Minifigures for that $110 price tag. These eight Minifigures include three cargo workers, two children, a tourist, a fisherman and an ice cream shop assistant. All of these Minifigures include plenty of accessories, returning prints and hair pieces to complete possibly the best LEGO City set of 2024.
