LEGO Insiders Weekend, Black Friday, Christmas: arguably three of the most important dates in LEGOs action-packed year with each including exclusive sets, offers and promotional items. In this article we're focusing on the later of those three dates as LEGO looks to ensure that its wide range of sets will be purchased throughout the run up to Christmas with the release of two brand new Gift With Purchase.
One of these GWPs in particular is 40701 Ballerina & Nutcracker Scene which includes 244 pieces once it becomes available starting on the 6th December 2024. It'll be available for a substantial period of time, until the 31st of December 2024, with any LEGO purchases over either $150 or $160.
The 9+ model recreates a beautiful Christmas diorama of a spinning Ballerina with a Nutcracker in her hand. The Ballerina is the only Minifigure included in 40701 and comes with a white tutu and fully white torso and legs. She holds a red microscale figure in her hand, used to represent the nutcracker. Together, they stand on a light blue section used to signify ice that can be twisted using cog pieces to make the figure spin and dance.
Behind the spinning Ballerina Minifigure is a beautiful, cosy Christmas scene. There's a brick-built Christmas tree, a mixture of different-coloured and sized presents, big red curtains allowing us to view the starry night outside, and plenty more Christmas decorations. All this sits on the diorama-like scene, which acts like a section of a Westend Christmas performance.
