Following on from previous large-scale LEGO Architecture sets like 21060 Himeji Castle and 21061 Notre-Dame de Paris, the second and final LEGO Architecture model of the year recreates the Neuschwanstein Castle in brick-built LEGO form. The 18+ model includes a total of 3,455 pieces retailing for $279.99 / €269.99 / £239.99, making it the most expensive LEGO Architecture set yet, beating 2024's brick-built Notre-Dame.
Neuschwanstein Castle, often dubbed the "fairy tale castle", is perched on a rugged hill in the Bavarian Alps. Known for its Romanesque Revival architecture and dramatic mountain backdrop, it features turrets, towers, and a multi-level facade with decorative brickwork and detailed windows. And today's official reveal showcases all these incredible details and more from one of Germany's most famous landmarks in brick-built LEGO form.
As with all LEGO Architecture sets, 21063 is entirely micro-scale, including no Minifigures and instead focusing on architectural accuracy rather than playability. The main castle structure is recreated to a very high detail with brick-built recreations of the white limestone walls, along with small decorative windows and arches. You can also find turrets, the courtyard, staircases and gabled roofs spread out across the castle build.
The whole model is set on a thin black base, but the brick-built Neuschwanstein Castle itself is elevated using a mix of earthy coloured elements to create the German rocky landscape surrounding the structure. This is very similar to 21060 Himeji Castle with micro-builds of trees and conifers on the edge of the rocky slopes and cliff face. The foliage of the surrounding micro-scale trees can even be changed to depict either a summer or fall landscape.
