After the recent rumours of the next wave of LEGO Star Wars coming in March 2022, it's inevitable that some older sets will soon retire. The latest addition to the LEGO Ideas theme has been revealed with the 40th set for the theme being based on a brick-built Globe. In particular, it's 21332 The Globe which was originally designed by Guillaume Roussel back in early 2020 meaning it's been quite a long wait for the official set. But either way, we'll all be able to get our hands on the set from 1st February 2022 for $199.99. The set itself measures 40 cm high, 30 cm wide and 26 cm deep making it an obvious and nicely coloured display model. Its roundness isn't often seen in LEGO form so makes a nice change and its brick-built stand displays it at more of an angle allowing more of our planet to be seen. The brown and gold stand even has a technic bit allowing the globe to spin round in any direction. One of the highlights of the set for many people is 2x4 glow in the dark round tiles with each of them having a print of a continent or ocean. These are spread throughout the globe in their respective positions on a real globe mixed in with the green, white and yellow colours of the land. There are even some prints to make a small compass, a print with 'The Earth' on and a small ship build. LEGO will continue with more seasonal sets this year with the only Easter LEGO set coming 1st February 2022 being officially revealed. The next wave of Harry Potter sets have finally been revealed after all four sets of this wave were originally meant to release in January 2022. Toy Story in LEGO form is now officially returning once again as a Brickheadz double pack has been revealed based on the franchise. 40553 Woody & Bo Peep will be available from 1st February 2022 along with the previously revealed 40552 Buzz Lightyear. The next LEGO Ideas set has been revealed with it being the highly anticipated Sonic the Hedgehog - Green Hill Zone. 21331 will release on 1st January 1st 2022 making it the first LEGO Ideas set releasing in 2022. It will also retail for $69.99 with a total of four figures which include a Sonic Minifigure, a brick-built Eggman, a brick-built Crabmeat and a brick-built Moto Bug. The set itself is bigger than the original design but it's in a linear 2D form making it more similar to the classic Sonic games rather than Sonic Mania. Sections of the set can still be moved about though, making the level customizable like the LEGO Super Mario sets and you can buy the set twice and attach it to the end of the original set to make the level even longer. Even with the set being 2D and not being based on Sonic Mania, the LEGO Ideas designers have tried to keep the set as similar to the original design as possible. There's a palm tree built at the start of the level with the interesting use of Nexo Knight shields. Next to it is a wooden bridge with three floating rings and a lever-activated spring. The set then continues into a classic Sonic loop followed by a spring with more rings. There's also buildable monitors on top of the loop along with a place for an enemy. There's also a sunflower and other natural decorations included making it more like Green Hill Zone to finish off the level. Eggman's Eggmobil is still included to act like the boss at the end of the course along with Eggman himself in his red suit with his big belly and arms. There's also another side build of a stand to display all the seven Chaos Emeralds and a place to sit Sonic. Finally, a sticker of a lives counter is also included right at the start of the course. The next LEGO Modular Building has finally been revealed to celebrate 15 years of the LEGO Modular system. 10297 Boutique Hotel is one of the last revealed sets for 1st January 2022 but as usual, the LEGO Modular set has not disappointed. A Gift With purchase is also rumoured to be coming with this set to celebrate the 15th Anniversary but this has not yet been revealed. But going back to the Modular Building, 10297 Boutique Hotel is a brand new corner Modular Building that sits at a 90 degrees angle. The building is the usual three-storey high with the ground floor in its nougat colour being connected to the street. Here there's a couple of flowers and the usual white lamp post. Elsewhere on the ground floor is the one-storey El Cubo art gallery. The room is quite small but has a few bits of art on show including exclusive prints. A grey staircase above the gallery leads to a terrace that's a part of the hotel. Here there's a palm tree and some tables and chairs. This terrace is right next to the first floor of the Hotel which, unlike the ground floor which is just a lobby, has one room for someone to stay in. There's not that much room at all on this floor so there's just this room, a tight corridor and some stairs leading to the second and final floor. The final floor is the most colourful on the outside and uses the most amount of space on the inside. There are altogether three rooms with one of them just being the main room. This is seen when first walking up the stairs and has a bed, a wardrobe, a classic tv and a chair. The other two rooms are a bathroom and a little storage place. Along with the main modular building will be six Minifigures. These include a female Minifigure in a turquoise uniform, a male Minifigure in a turquoise uniform, a coffee seller with a small coffee cart, a female Minifigure with a dress and grey hair, a female Minifigure with glasses and orange hair and most likely runs the art gallery, and finally another male Minifigure with a grey suit and a top hat. Among the many reveals over the last few days has been the official reveal of the next LEGO Minifigures series. 71032 will be the 22nd classic Minifigure series with another 12 different Minifigures included. These include a Snow Warrior, a Woman in a Chilli Costume, a Forst Spirit and many more. This is rumoured to be the first of four series coming next year with Series 22 releasing 1st January 2022. Bard - Mainly dressed in blue but has sleeves and boots in black. His facial expression looks new along with a new design/shape for a ukulele. Man with Racing Wheelchair - New build for the wheelchair with an extra wheel at the front. The Minifigure itself is wearing light blue with a new light blue helmet along with the usual medal piece. Girl in Raccoon Costume - The raccoon costume is very similar to the fox but is grey with some hints of black. Has a green garbage can and a white bag as an accessory along with a swappable grey hairpiece. Researcher - A female Minifigure with a plain black torso and beige dual moulded legs. She comes with a green hat, a pink bag that goes around her neck and some black binoculars. A new piece for a toucan is included along with a branch. Woman in Chilli Costume - An adult Minifigure whose chilli costume is a brand new piece. Her torso and legs are a darker red and she comes with a carton of milk. A swappable hairpiece in red also comes with this Minifigure Forest Spirit - A Minifigure with short legs, a green cloak along with a green torso, an acorn hat and an accessory of a stick and a toadstool that has a cute face. Snow Warrior - Comes with a white beard, a long sword, a shield with a snowflake print, a wintery hat and a husky. His clothes are all set for winter with a while hood around his neck included. Moon Warrior - Another warrior this time with a purple see-thru sword and a purple shield with a printed crescent of the moon. Her hair is green which goes nicely with her mint coloured face. She has an almost medieval look with her grey outfit bit includes a small bit of pink and some moon logos. Alien Insect - An alien-like Minifigure with a purple body and a Classic Space logo on the torso. Its head is pink with antennae and its got green wings and a green space blaster. Robot Mechanic - Comes in yellow with a special arm that can pick up tools (things like a hammer, a wrench, a unicorn horn as a drill etc.). There's also a smaller robot built-in red with large black eyes. The Packaging & Checklist The 22nd non-licensed series is set to have a light blue packaging very similar to series 5. It's still the same plastic packaging we're used to with nine different Minifigures shown on the front. The Minifigure logo is at the top along with the series number while the age and set number are at the bottom. The checklist is the same as recent series with there being three rows and four Minifigures on each row.
