After months of rumours, the next licensed LEGO theme is finally here of LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog which will kick off with five brand-new sets. One of these is 76990 Sonic's Speed Sphere Challenge which we have the most pictures of including box art and an overview of the set which is the smallest of the five with only 292 pieces. Here we can see a launcher build along with a clear ball which can be deployed when required to defeat enemies in the set. It can also go up the green ramp that's included along with other elements of the Green Hill Zone. The only Minifigure included in the set is Sonic but he comes with his usual headpiece and printed torso and dual moulded legs. A small build with a beach scene and a hotdog is also included in the $29.99. Set Information Set Name - Sonic's Speed Sphere Challenge Set Number - 76990 Ages - 6+ Piece Count - 292 Price - $29.99 Release Date - 1st August 2023

We've already had one wave of LEGO Harry Potter sets release this year but another one is coming this summer which includes 76414 Expecto Patronum. The brand new Prisoner of Azkaban set will be based on the scene where Harry produces his Patronus but in a brand new LEGO form. Rather than a specific piece, his stag Patronus will be in a brick-built form with many translucent elements included with the 754 piece set. And along with Harry's stag, they'll also be a brick-built version of Lupin's Wolf Patronus in the $64.99 set. Unsurprisingly, the corresponding Minifigures included in the set are Harry Potter and Lupin which will most likely be unexclusive. This and much more will be included in the $64.99 set once it releases in just over a month's time on 1st June 2023 Set Information Set Name - Expecto Patronum Set Number - 76414 Ages - 14+ Piece Count - 754 Price - $64.99 Release Date - 1st June 2023

We've already had one wave of LEGO Harry Potter sets release this year but another one is coming this summer which includes 76415 The Battle of Hogwarts. The brand new Deathly Hallow set will be based on the iconic Battle of Hogwarts where Wizards and Witches attack Voldemort and his army. The LEGO version will include this and much more once it releases on 1st June 2023 for $84.99 with 730 pieces. The set is technically another expansion of Hogwarts with the main build being another Hogwarts clock tower. However, this one will contain a lot of rubble and damage to the building demonstrating the severity of the attack. Some cool play features and ways of destroying the tower should be included in the $85 set. And along with this clock tower build we expect a small section of the fight between Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort. This once again should include a couple of play features and those two Minifigures of Harry and Voldemort aren't the only two Minifigures included in the Summer 2023 set. It's also rumoured that McGonigal, Bellatrix, Molly Weasley, Scabior and Neville will be included in 76415. It was only yesterday we covered all 17 sets rumoured for a summer release from the LEGO Freinds theme but one has been revealed online today. This is thanks to the Singapore LEGO Certified Store which showed a single picture of 41737 Beach Adventure Park. The set itself is one of the biggest of the wave retailing for $99.99 with 1,348 pieces and four minidolls of Zac, Nova, Charli and Dia. As the name suggests, they are at a beach amusement park with fun rides, stalls and music. A connected function is included in the $100 set which allows the ride and its three brick-built sea animals to move around and feel like a real amusement park ride but in LEGO. All of this and more is included in the set making the $100 price tag well worth it when cool functions are included with over 1,000 pieces. Even though this is our first image of the set, we'll likely have to wait a week or two more for official images but the set will release on 1st June 2023 so it won't be long at all. Set Information Set Name - Beach Adventure Park Set Number - 41737 Ages - 12+ Piece Count - 1,348 Price - $99.99 Release Date - 1st June 2023

After an action-packed 2022 for the LEGO Ideas theme, 2023 is set to carry on that trend as the third set for the theme has been officially revealed. In particular, this is 21340 Tales of the Space Age which will retail for $49.99 making it one of the cheapest LEGO Ideas sets since 2018. And with a total of 688 pieces, that isn't badly priced for the 18+ spaced themed set The build itself is of four space-themed 3D postcards which can be connected together to create a lovely brick-built display. Once connected, or separately, they can be connected to walls and put on other pieces of furniture due to their small size yet wonderful colours. Each one seems to include different colours from blues and pinks to greens and oranges. 21340 Tales of the Space Age also comes with separate instruction booklets allowing the whole family to build all four 3D postcards at the same time. Each one is inspired by 1980s sci-fi myths, films, books and posters making them perfect for both the adult and child market. The set will be available in just a few week's time on 8th May 2023 for that relatively cheap price of $49.99. Set Information Set Name - Tales of the Space Age Set Number - 21340 Ages - 18+ Piece Count - 688 Price - $49.99 Release Date - 8th May 2023

The LEGO Star Wars rumours for 2023 just keep on coming as a brand new 18+ Gift With Purchase is rumoured for an Autumn 2023 release. This is thanks to FluffySky6 on Reddit who is reporting that a LEGO Star Wars GWP will release in the second half of the year based on last year's LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special show. This featured on Disney+ around November/December of 2022 and included many iconic Star Wars characters. And this promotional set which will be the first based on the Holiday Special will include a range of these characters in Minifigure form. These include Finn, Rey, Chewbacca and BB-8 who are likely to either be in their normal form or have an exclusive Christmas outfit. The set is also meant to be an 18+ Diorama which has already appeared in the LEGO Star Wars theme but this one will be much smaller as its a GWP. Set Information Set Name - Holiday Special Diorama Set Number - 40658 Ages - 18+ Piece Count - TBC Price - TBC GWP Release Date - Autumn 2023

Many rumours for the LEGO Marvel theme have appeared throughout the year but we now know more information about the biggest LEGO Marvel set yet. This is the previously rumoured 76269 which thanks to Stonewars.de and FluffySky6 on Reddit it will be a brand new 18+ Avengers Tower. The tower itself has been implemented as a playset in LEGO form many times but this $525 implementation will be something completely different. And not only will it retail for that large price tag of $524.99, it'll also include a large amount of pieces at 5,261 in total. And unsrurpsingly a large amount of Minifigures will be included in this D2C all based on Avengers: Age of Ultron. These include the likes of Captain America, Tony Stark, Black Widow, Thor, Hawkeye, Bruce Banner, Vision, Wanda Maximoff, Quicksilver, Ultron mk1, Pepper Potts, Iron Man mk 43 and mk45 along with many more. The set will also carry on with the recent trend of 18+ D2C Superhero buildings like the previous sets of 76178 Daily Bugle and 76218 Snactum Sanctorum. 76269 Avengers Tower will be able to be connected to both of these buildings as it'll sit on a ain't blaseplate with tehnic pin connections to make this LEGO Marvel modular system. Further details including the exact list of Minifigures and the different rooms included inside the tower are unknown but the set will be a big one. And it's likely to be one of the best and biggest LEGO sets of the year especially with it Black Friday release on the 24th Noevmber 2023. More and more rumours keep on coming as a brand new LEGO Icons set has been rumoured for a July 1st 2023 release. This is set 10320 which we previously covered but it's now confirmed to be a remake of the LEGO Pirates set of 6276 Eldorado Fortress. The set was first released in 1989 so many changes are likely to be implemented in this modern 2023 version of the LEGO Pirates set. This version under the set number of 10320 of the yellow and white fortress includes a lot more pieces at 2,503. Many of these will be used for the fortress itself along with the small mountain that the fortress sits on. This was previously not brick built but LEGO has come a long way in the last 30+ years so we're likely to see some interesting building techniques and detailed scenery for the Eldorado Fortress. As already mentioned, the Eldorado Fortress will retail for $214.99 once it releases on 1st July 2023 but it won't be the only release for the LEGO Icons theme. This is because a brand new 18+ Gift With Purchase set will be released alongside 10320 of a Classic Castle Majisto GWP. The set will be a similar size to last year's forestmen hideout GWP and should revolve around the blue magician Majisto. The majority of these sets will release on June 1st 2023 or August 1st 2023 but any D2Cs from any theme will have their own release date outside of the usual wave for the theme.
