LEGO Super Mario 71437 The Bowser Express Train Officially Revealed | August 2024

Our third and final Mario Day reveal is the biggest of them all of 71437 The Bowser Express Train. Just like the other two LEGO Super Mario sets revealed yesterday, 71437 continues with the course-building system which was first introduced back in 2020. Still no LEGO Super Mario Minifigures but the sets do seem to be inheriting more friendly price-per-piece ratios with sets tailored to both the course building system and general display.

71437 The Bowser Express Train is based on the popular 2013 WII U game Super Mario 3D World which features Bowser's Express Train in one of its many 3D platformer games. The LEGO version will retail for $119.99 with 1,392 pieces making it the biggest LEGO Super Mario set releasing on the 1st of August 2024. The brick-built Bowser train measures 68 cm long and even though no tracks are included, can easily operate like any LEGO train.

The detailed train includes the main locomotive/engine cart in the shape of Bowser's face, a cute passenger car where two Goomba's can have a romantic meal together, a cannon car and a hand car. All carriages can easily be connected and unconnected and plenty of interactive tiles along the way for LEGO Mario, Luigi and Peach to interact with.

Two brick-built train stations are also included: one in the Mushroom Kingdom and the other in the lava lands of Bowser's lair. Both stations are very small but obviously represent their respective locations with their colour schemes and smaller details. A couple of nice printed signs are also included here signifying Peach's Castle and Bowser's Castle.

The $120 set isn't complete without a few brick-built LEGO Super Mario characters. A total of six are included in 71437 of a Hammer Bro, Boom Boom making a reappearance, two Goomba's with fun and fancy hat builds and two Para-Biddybuds. These Para-Biddybuds are shown to be located on the hand car, having plenty of fun before our heroes of LEGO Mario, Luigi and Peach come along to defeat them and collect a bunch of coins.
