2025 has very much been the year for some epic, family-friendly racing games, initially with Mario Kart World and more recently with Sonic Racing: CrossWorld. The LEGO Group have already produced plenty of sets based on the Mario Kart series, but in 2026, the Danes will be shifting their focus to the kart racing game belonging to our favourite blue hedgehog. A total of two sets will be released on the 1st of January 2026 based on Sonic Racing: CrossWorld. These are 77117 Sonic's Car: Speedster Lightning and 77118 Silver's Car vs Knuckles' Monster Truck, with the latter of the two sets being the focus of today's article. The 8+ model is the more expensive of the two January 2026 sets, with a total of 378 pieces included, retailing for $39.99 / €39.99 / £34.99. As the name suggests, the set features two brick-built vehicles from the CrossWorlds universe, which both reflect their respective characters' unique traits. Silver's Car, also known as the Neo Lightron, is built for speed with a very curvy, futuristic look, coloured mainly Silver. The car is roughly the same size as Sonic's Speedster Lightning, with enough space to fit a single Minifigure in the cockpit of an exclusive Silver the Hedgehog. Meanwhile, Knuckles' Monster Truck is bulkier and built for power. In its red colour scheme, the vehicle includes large, oversized wheels attached to a raised chassis. Wheel covers with spikes can be found on top of the LEGO wheel elements, giving the monster truck an even more powerful and somewhat rugged look. Once again, this LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog vehicle has room for just a single LEGO Minifigure of the returning Knuckles. For $39.99 / €39.99 / £34.99, a couple of side builds and accessories are also included alongside the two race cars. A few more Chaos Emeralds are included to go along with the single emerald found in 77117 Sonic's Car: Speedster Lightning. There's also a starting light and a toolbox allowing builders to create an action-packed race complete with the start and finishing sequence and high-speed pit stops. 77118 Silver's Car vs Knuckles' Monster Truck Set Name - Silver's Car vs Knuckles' Monster Truck Set Number - 77118 Age Range- 8+ Piece Count - 378 Price - $39.99 / €39.99 / £34.99 Release Date - 1st January 2026 77118 Silver's Car vs Knuckles' Monster Truck releases on the 1st of January 2026, but what do you think? Following the LEGO Super Mario theme, delving into the franchise's racing series, the LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog line will also focus on the blue hedgehog's high-speed vehicle adventures. In particular, on the 1st of January 2026, a total of two LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog sets will be released based on the recently launched Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds arcade game. The first of these is the focus of today's article: 77117 Sonic's Car: Speedster Lightning. The 6+ model will be one of the smallest LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog -branded sets yet, with just 126 pieces retailing for $9.99 / €9.99 / £8.99. Therefore, the build will be a small but compact Minifigure-scale version of Sonic's Speedster Lightning car, which is the hedgehog's signature car in the latest Sonic Racing videogame. The brick-built LEGO version of the Speedster will capture the sleek, aerodynamic shaping of the vehicle in its classic blue and white colour scheme. Red rims are also included on the car, along with a hinged hood which cleverly hides a Chaos Emerald as Sonic sets off on a quest for the Golden Ring. A single LEGO Minifigure of Sonic is also included in the $10 set, and he comes with a mischievous facial expression on his usual specialised headpiece. 77117 Sonic's Car: Speedster Lightning Set Name - Sonic's Car: Speedster Lightning Set Number - 77117 Age Range- 6+ Piece Count - 126 Price - $9.99 / €9.99 / £8.99 Release Date - 1st January 2026 77117 Sonic's Car: Speedster Lightning releases on the 1st of January 2026, but what do you think? 2025 has been a significant year for racing, with the LEGO Speed Champions theme experiencing its biggest year to date in terms of set releases. Additionally, LEGO has entered an exciting multi-year partnership with Formula 1, and LEGO Super Mario has expanded into Mario Kart. However, in 2026, another gaming theme will be revving its engines, with two LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog sets set to release in January, most likely inspired by the upcoming Sonic Racing CrossWorlds videogame. 77117 Sonic's Car Just like LEGO Super Mario released a classic Mario Kart car with 72032 Mario Kart - Standard Kart, LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog will also be launching a standard yet iconic vehicle for the Blue Blur. 77117 Sonic's Car will likely recreate the blue and silver "Sonic Speedster", the same one that appeared in LEGO Dimensions, but this time in a more detailed and appropriate Minifigure scale. Set Name - Sonic's Car Set Number - 77117 Age Range- 6+ Piece Count - TBC Price - $9.99 / €9.99 / £8.99 Release Date - 1st January 2026 77118 Silver's Car vs Knuckles' Monster Truck The more expensive of the two LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog sets releasing on the 1st of January 2026 is 77118 Silver's Car vs Knuckles' Monster Truck. The ever-popular LEGO Modular Building Collection continues to go from strength to strength, as following on from this year's 10350 Tudor Corner , a brand new Modular Building will be launching on the 1st of January 2026. Reportedly coming under the set number 11371, this latest addition to the long-running LEGO Icons line will include a total of 3,456 pieces retailing for $229.99 / €229.99 / £199.99. Even though no set name has been confirmed for the 2026 model, current rumours suggest that the brand new modular could take the form of a music and furniture store combination. If these rumours prove true, we may see the build split into two distinct yet complementary halves. The ground floor might feature the furniture store, with large display windows showing off brick-built chairs, tables, and lamps to passing minifigures. Inside, shelving units, a sales counter, and even a mock showroom layout could bring the interior to life. The upper floors, meanwhile, could be dedicated to the music store, perhaps recreating a classic, retro record shop in brick-built LEGO. Rows of printed tile “records,” miniature guitars, drum kits, and even a brick-built piano could fill the space, along with posters referencing some of the most famous artists in LEGO city. Right at the top of the build, like most previous LEGO Modular interpretations, a small apartment or studio space may be included. While the smallest and most compact floor, it will still be very homely and likely the living quarters for the shopkeeper or a musician's practice space, for example. A rooftop terrace would add further unique features to 2026's Modular Building and a strong contrast to this year's Tudor-themed model. 11371 LEGO Icons 2026 Modular Building Set Name - LEGO Icons 2026 Modular Building Set Number - 11371 Age Range - 18+ Piece Count - 3,456 Price - $229.99 / €229.99 / £199.99 Release Date - 1st January 2026 11371 2026 Modular Building releases on the 1st of January 2026, but what do you think? It's a brand-new month, and the LEGO Group is already treating us to official reveals of various upcoming LEGO sets. The first of these is a brand-new LEGO Fortnite BrickHeadz, following on from last month's promotional model of 40760 Adventure Peely & Cuddle Team Leader . However, unlike 40760, the officially presented 40884 Drift & Raven Figures will be available in normal distribution, starting from the 1st of October 2025, retailing for $19.99 / €19.99 / £17.99 and including a total of 280 pieces. The double pack obviously includes the two characters, Raven and Drift. The Legendary outfit belonging to Raven is known for its dark, ominous look, which is translated here into LEGO BrickHeadz  form. The character is predominantly black with hints of purple, navy blue and pink, along with glowing purple eyes, which surprisingly don't use the conventional BrickHeadz 1x1 eyes. Drift, on the other hand, another legendary outfit, is a colourful contrast with his signature fox mask and streetwear-inspired outfit. The BrickHeadz version focuses on the unique white and gold mask, covering the character's face and pink hood. The character's torso includes more elements of pink, white and gold, whilst a single accessory of a grey pickaxe is also included for this brick-built interpretation of Drift. 40884 Drift & Raven Figures Set Name - Drift & Raven Figures Set Number - 40884 Age Range - 10+ Piece Count - 280 Price - $19.99 / €19.99 / £17.99 Release Date - 1st October 2025 40884 Drift & Raven Figures releases on the 1st of October 2025, but what do you think? Grogu, also commonly known as Baby Yoda, has to be one of the cutest characters in the Star Wars universe, and so it's no surprise that another entirely brick-built version of the popular character is coming to brick-built form in 2026. In particular, this latest buildable Grogu will be for some of the youngest of LEGO Star Wars  fans, with 75443 Grogu's Homestead being branded as a 4+ model. Releasing on the 1st of January 2026, 75443 includes 107 pieces retailing for $19.99 / €19.99 / £17.99. These slightly larger and more simplified pieces recreate a very simple and somewhat less screen-accurate version of Grogu. A single piece is used for various elements such as his ears and his face, which includes prints for his cute eyes, tiny nose and mouth. Grogu has movement in his head and arms, allowing the Star Wars character to interact with the various side builds included in the 4+ model. These include a small campfire cooking some scifi meal, an Arge frog (the one-eyed blue frogs), and a small seesaw-like build coloured the same as the Arge frog, which Grogu loves to eat. 75443 Grogu's Homestead Set Name - Grogu's Homestead Set Number - 75443 Age Range - 4+ Piece Count - 107 Price - $19.99 / €19.99 / £17.99 Release Date - 1st January 2026 75443 Grogu's Homestead releases on the 1st of January 2026, but what do you think? While the cheapest set of LEGO Star Wars ' upcoming Winter 2026 wave is based on the first season of The Mandalorian, this article focuses on the second season of the popular Disney+ show with 75437 Cobb Vanth's Speeder. The 7+ model releases on the 1st of January 2026, including just 207 pieces retailing for $34.99 / €29.99 / £24.99. Cobb Vanth finally gets a dedicated LEGO set with his custom Podracer engine turned speeder recreated in brick-built form under set number 75437. The 207 pieces recreate the awesome speeder, including key details such as the mainly red and yellow colour scheme, handlebars and single seat, along with a hidden compartment to store iconic accessories, including Boba Fett's helmet and a bantha milk carton. Cobb Vanth is included as an exclusive Minifigure with a unique facial expression and printed armour across his torso, arms and legs. Cad Bane is the only other LEGO Minifigure included in 75437 Cobb Vanth's Speeder, as he returns from his appearance in the now-retired 57323 The Justifier. Both figures include generic blaster pistols, while Cobb also comes with his jetpack. 75437 Cobb Vanth's Speeder Set Name - Cobb Vanth's Speeder Set Number - 75437 Age Range - 7+ Piece Count - 207 Price - $34.99 / €29.99 / £24.99 Release Date - 1st January 2026 75437 Cobb Vanth's Speeder releases on the 1st of January 2026, but what do you think? Just over a month of 2025 remains, and that means we're ever closer to a flurry of LEGO releases across a wide range of licensed and unlicensed LEGO themes. The LEGO Star Wars theme is expected to have a big 2026 as the Star Wars franchise returns to the big screen with the release of The Mandalorian & Grogu movie in May. This will coincide with plenty of Mandalorian-inspired LEGO sets, including a couple releasing on the 1st of January. In particular, the smallest and cheapest set of the Winter 2026 LEGO Star Wars  wave is 75436 The Mandalorian & Grogu's Speeder Bike. The 6+ model, retailing for just $9.99 / €9.99 / £8.99, recreates Mando's Speeder Bike, which we see speeding through Tatooine back in the first season of The Mandalorian. Only 58 pieces are used to recreate the bike, which has both a driver's seat for the Mandalorian himself and a stachel for Grogu to sit. Unfortunately, both figures are unexclusive, and unlike initial rumours, the LEGO Minifigure version of Mando is not the UCS one. Din Djarin also just comes with a simple blaster rifle, which can be attached to the rear of the mainly grey and fairly lacklustre speeder bike build. 75436 The Mandalorian & Grogu's Speeder Bike Set Name - The Mandalorian & Grogu's Speeder Bike Set Number - 75436 Age Range - 6+ Piece Count - 58 Price - $9.99 / €9.99 / £8.99 Release Date - 1st January 2026 75436 The Mandalorian & Grogu's Speeder Bike releases on the 1st of January 2026, but what do you think? A total of nine LEGO Creator 3-in-1 sets are launching on the 1st of January 2026, but the cheapest and smallest set of the upcoming wave is easily the cutest and may be one of the most popular models for the theme in the new year. In particular, we now have leaked images, thanks to photos found on Reddit of 31376 Cute Hamster with a Flower. The adorable 8+ model includes 166 pieces retailing for just $9.99 / €9.99 / £8.99. The extremely cute brick-built Hamster is coloured brown and white, complete with cubby brick-built cheeks, pink ears and a very furry body. The LEGO Hamster can either be displayed sitting or standing, with movement in the animal's head and legs. In fact, when displayed sitting, the hamster can hold a purple flower with a green, leafy stem and an even greener base. The other two builds continue the cute, animal-themed fun with a hedgehog and a bird. The hedgehog, similar to the hamster, has a white underside but a prickly brown front. A much smaller purple flower is also included as a side build here. Meanwhile, the bird is almost entirely brown and stands next to more purple flowers, this time keeping its brick-built nesting egg nice and warm. 31376 Cute Hamster with a Flower Set Name - Cute Hamster with a Flower Set Number - 31376 Age Range - 7+ Piece Count - 166 Price - $9.99 / €9.99 / £8.99 Release Date - 1st January 2026 31376 Cute Hamster with a Flower releases on the 1st of January 2026, but what do you think?
