The latest set in LEGO's long line of Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series is finally here with 75382 TIE Interceptor. The 18+ model has been rumoured since last Summer but today LEGO has officially presented the set to coincide with the Danish toy company's Star Wars Day celebrations. 75382 will retail for $229.99 with a total of 1,931 pieces included once it releases in just a few weeks time on the 4th of May 2024.
75382 UCS TIE Interceptor revisits an older UCS set of 2000s 7181 TIE Interceptor. This set was one of the first LEGO UCS sets and so 2024s 39th ever UCS set is a whole lot different in many ways. Yet it still includes some of the most unique features of the TIE Interceptor such as it being one of the lightest, fastest and most responsive starfighters in the expansive Star Wars universe.
1,931 pieces are used to create the brick-built vehicle which measures over 40 cm long and mainly includes dark-coloured bricks of blacks and greys. The TIE Fighter's distinctive wings use plenty of larger pieces, creating stability and the ability to move/pose them as you wish. The LEGO designers have done extremely well to capture both the model's pointed wings and aggressive, speedy design.
A detailed cockpit for the TIE Interceptor is also included with plenty of space for our singular Minifigure to sit. Here there are quite a few stickers to add to the electronic displays. Some elements of red are also included which can be seen by opening the hatch above which allows access to the cockpit.
For that $229.99 price tag, only one Minifigure is included of an exclusive TIE Pilot who sits alongside a brick-built Mouse Droid on the black display stand. Similar to last year's May the Fourth UCS set, this allows the TIE Interceptor to be modelled and displayed in any way you wish alongside the two Star Wars characters and the printed display plaque.
