LEGO Disney 100 40659 Mini Steamboat Willie GWP Officially Revealed | 23rd October 2023

It's been four years since the release of the LEGO Ideas set 21317 Steamboat Willie but the Disney-themed model will be returning in another form. This is because a miniature version of Steamboat Willie has been officially revealed for a release later this month as a Gift With Purchase online and in LEGO stores. The GWP, under the set number 40659 and the set name Mini Steamboat Willie, will be available from the 23rd October until the 31st October.

As already mentioned, 21317 Steamboat Willie was first released in 2019 and included both Mickey and Minnie in black and white form. This was because the set was Minifigure scale but 40659 is built on a much smaller scale which is actually more similar to the original LEGO Ideas submission. 40659 Mini Steamboat Willie will include 424 pieces, 300 pieces less than 21317, but still includes a single Minifigure of a reused Mickey Mouse in black and white.

The GWP which continues the celebrations of Disney's 100th anniversary is available beginning the 23rd October 2023. It will then last until the 31st October 2023 or until stock of the set runs out in store and online. You'll be able to grab the GWP yourself during these dates as long as you spend over $100 on LEGO Disney, LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Marvel products making it a fairly accessible promotional item.
