As has been previously rumoured, a LEGO set based on Transformers will finally be coming in less than a month's time as it's been officially revealed by LEGO today. The LEGO Creator Expert set of 10302 will be available from 1st June 2022 joining a range of other sets releasing on the same day from other themes. This means the first LEGO Transformers set will be available a year before the next film, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.
The build itself is a brick built figure of the leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime, who can change into his truck form without removing or adding any pieces. He also includes a jetpack, his Ion Blaster and his Energon Axe with the brick-built figure being easily bendable at his arms and legs to easily change forms whenever needed. This is all included in the 1508 piece set retailing for $169.99 and the Optimus Prime figure measuring 35cm in height.
The exact version of Optimus Prime is the iconic 80s G1 version which isn't based on any of the Michael Bay films. This makes it a great display set that sits on one of those 18+ information plaques which include Top Trumps like stats which you can see in the official pictures. The set is also a pretty historic one as once it's available from 1st June 2022, it'll be the first time LEGO have teamed up with competitors Hasbro.
