It was only a few hours ago our first image appeared, but the official presentation has now taken place and we have our first official images of the next LEGO Icons 2024 set. In particular, this set is 10332 Medieval Town Square which is the latest 18+ model based on one of LEGO's oldest and most nostalgic themes, LEGO Castle. After a year in the rumour mill, 10332 will be available beginning from the 3rd of March 2024.
Those of you keen LEGO fans will know that this set has been rumoured since last February when a survey online leaked a medieval-like 18+ build for the LEGO Icons theme. And this set of 10332 is that build but includes 104 pieces more than the original leak with a slightly bigger and more detailed build than the original leaked model. 10332 will also retail for a fair price of $229.99 for those 3,304 pieces included.
10332 Medieval Town Square is basically a bigger and more detailed successor to 10193 Medieval Market Village from 2009. LEGO sets have come a long way in 15 years so the 2024 set is quite different and more detailed with modern building techniques. The original leaked set included plenty of information about the build but these brand new official images show that the model has been somewhat adapted and updated.
The medieval town contains two main buildings which can be connected, rearrange and built in whatever way you like. These buildings are open at the back, allowing plenty of details and fun builds in the interior of each building as well as the exterior. Hinges are used on each of the builds along them to be swung open further or closed for displaying your medieval town square.
Each building seems to include different shops and workplaces for the Minifigures of the medieval town. There's an old farmhouse, a cheese factory, an inn named The Broken Axes Inn and a shieldsmith's workshop. The buildings are all very cleverly built with a stone watch tower also integrated into one of the buildings as a reference to the most recent LEGO Castle set of 10305 Lion Knights Castle.
Other builds of the $230 set include a wooden cart, a small food stand and a tree with a small section of water. Along with a lot of Minifigures, a couple of animals are also included in the set. the most exciting of all of the animals is a goat which reuses that iconic goat piece that recently returned in the latest LEGO Minifigure series of 71045 Series 25. However, this time it's in an exclusive grey colouring.
Finally, a total of eight Minifigures are included in 10332 Medieval Town Square. These include a knight on top of the watch tower, a tapestry worker, a young boy, the owner of the inn, the tax collector along with a couple of the townsfolk. As already mentioned, 10332 will be available to purchase very soon as it hits shelves in just a few weeks time on the 3rd of March 2024.
