Even though we already had a LEGO Classic Space set as part of LEGO's 90th Anniversary celebrations, the theme is still making a comeback next year too. This is because the previously leaked Gift With Purchase of 40580 Blacktron Cruiser has been officially revealed. The 18+ set will be available in just less than a week starting from 1st January 2023 and lasting until 14th January 2023.
The set is a recreation of 6894 Invader, which was first released in 1987. The new version includes almost 200 more pieces with a total of 356. These help to make the black and yellow cruiser which features a couple of stickers on the bodywork of the Blacktron logo. A different piece is used for the cockpit but still allows enough space for one Minifigure to sit in.
The Minifigure included in the GWP is just a Classic Space Blacktron Minifigure with no unique facial expression or accessory. However, he does come with a little robot/droid which helps him to pull the ship apart when necessary as he explores the LEGO Galaxy. All of this and more will be available from 1st January with any purchases over $190.
