Exotic animals, the never-ending depths of space and now historic real-world art make up LEGO Art's lineup of sets in 2024 with the recent LEGO Art official presentation. In particular, it's 31212 The Milky Way Galaxy will be our third LEGO Art set of the year after 31212 The Milky Way Galaxy releases on the 18th of May 2024. It will release on the 1st of October 2024 retailing for $99.99 with a total of 1,503 pieces.
Unsurprisingly, the brick-built 18+ model is a recreation of the renowned painting the Mona Lisa. Italian Artist Leonardo da Vinci was the one who painted the art all the way back in the 1500s. Today, the painting is celebrated for its enigmatic expression, meticulous detail, and the use of the sfumato technique, which creates soft transitions between colours and tones in an extremely detailed and artistic manner.
31213 Mona Lisa is 43 cm high and 30 cm wide with a beautiful gold frame surrounding the artistic piece which can easily be detached and used on other LEGO Art sets similar to the black frame from 31212. Also similar to the LEGO recreation of the Milky Way Galaxy, Mona Lisa is a combination of tiles, studs and raised plates with her eyes even being printed. However, LEGO has also included the option to replace these printed eyes with black pieces for a more artistic look.
