Are More LEGO The Lord Of The Rings Sets Coming in 2025?

LEGO and Lord Of The Rings have been extremely successful from their first introduction as a fully fledge theme in 2012 to expensive yet highly detailed 18+ LEGO Icons D2Cs over the past couple of years. Just those two sets of 10316 The Lord Of The Rings: Rivendell and 10333 The Lord Of The Rings: Barad-Dûr has been popular enough to outshine many of LEGO's existing themes.

So the big question on many fans' lips is will we be getting another LEGO Lord Of The Rings set under the LEGO Icons line again in 2025? Or will LEGO finally revive the theme 10 years after its last set released?

Early rumours indicate that LEGO will continue with the unofficial LEGO Lord Of The Rings theme of releasing a set based on the trilogy under the LEGO Icons theme. These larger D2C sets seem to be more profitable for LEGO than our smaller, playsets so it's no surprise to see the Danish toy maker continue with this very new tradition. However, there is still hope for 2026 and a fully-fledged LOTR theme with the likes of Rings of Power, the animated Rohim show and upcoming Gollum movies all creating hype for Tolkien fans.

The 2025 LEGO Icons Lord of The Rings set is expected to release in the first half of the year similar to the previous two sets of 10316 and 10333. Currently, two rumours about what the set could be exist, both based on the printed Middle Earth map which appeared in 2023's Rivendell set.

Minas Tirith

Minas Tirith is the capital city of Gondor in J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord Of The Rings novel and seems the most likely option for a 2025 LOTR D2C. The iconic city has never appeared in brick-built form before and would therefore be extremely welcomed by LEGO Lord Of The Rings fans. However, the city is huge so a Minifigure scale model would be very, very expensive unless LEGO just included a small section or went with a microscale form.

Bag End

Bag End has been hinted at by Instagram user tandnbricks who rightly predicted Barad-Dûr last year. The underground dwelling of the Hobbits Bilbo and Frodo Baggins has to be one of if not the iconic location in Lord Of The Rings. LEGO producing Bag End would further add to its detailed and very different collection of LOTR LEGO Icons sets. It would also be slightly smaller and more affordable than the previous two, appealing to more fans and possibly resulting in more sales and profit for the toy manufacturer.

That's all we have to speculate about LEGO Lord Of The Rings in 2025 but what do you think? Will we be getting another LEGO Icons 18+ LOTR model? What do you hope the set is? What would be a reasonable price considering the prices of both 10316 and 10333? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below.
