LEGO Art 31208 The Great Wave Leaked Online | January 2023

The LEGO Art theme is set to enter its third year on shelves and with that there's a brand new set for 2023. In particular, this set is 31208 The Great Wave which has been rumoured for many months but has now been leaked. This is thanks to Stonewars.de who were able to find the 18+ set early in stores before its release on 1st January 2023.

31208 is based on the woodblock print of The Great Wave Off Kanagawa by Katsushika Hokusai. The original woodblock print measures 26 x 38 cm and is one of the most famous Japanese prints ever. The LEGO version, including 1,810 pieces has similar dimensions to the original but is actually 52 x 39 cm. The big wave will be made up of a mixture of 1x1 rounded tiles arranged in a mosaic with other various large plates.

This makes the set similar to this year's LEGO Art set of 31206 The Rolling Stones and may also come close to the LEGO Ideas set 21333 Vincent Van Gogh - The Starry Night. However, this LEGO Art set will retail for a relatively low price of $99.99 and, as already mentioned, is available from 1st January 2023. For the first time in a LEGO Art set, a tan-coloured frame is also included in this $100 set.
